I own a P4P800, and I say IS7-G. Asus tech support is beyond bad, and for a technology company it's inexcusable. I thinnk IDE RAID is a bad idea anyway from what I've read. Don't pay attention to the people who say their bord is the best. Truth is, 865 and 875 boards are generally all head and shoulders above everything else they should feel that way. Pay attention to the people who own the board that tell you not to buy it (i.e. me )

P4P800D Specs
"IDE RAID
The VIA IDE-RAID controller supports two-channel ATA 133, enabling users to build Maximum 4 ATA-133 hard disk as an RAID0, 1 , 0+1 , JBOD array. And the graphical user interface provides an easy way to configure and manage disk drives or disk arrays connected."
???
ICH5R with Integrated SATA and RAID 0
Intel is the world?s first chipset maker to integrate Serial ATA (SATA) and RAID 0 functions into the South Bridge. The latest ICH5R chipset now delivers 150MB/s fast data transfer (SATA) and striping performance (RAID 0) to enhance computing efficiency. Note:Microsoft WinXP only.

Well, here you're saying the Abit board doesn't have IDE RAID, which I know. Later you say "for the second time, it doesn't have IDE RAID when I'm talking about the P4P800D. Now, granted you've won a victory in semantics; however he said price not an issue so I would think the comparison is between the P4P800D and the IS7-G. I would go for the IS7-G. I'm glad you like your P4P800... I wish I was happy with my P4P800-D. Let's say, if you get a bug free board the Asus is better. I think it's a statement we can both agree upon. My point is, God help you if you do have a problem; He's your only hope. Well, maybe the RMA fairy, my deity of choice.

I'm kinda leaning toward the MSI board actually. I've been an Asus fan for a long time now, shattered fanboy-dom hurts. D:

the way i see it, the best to judge which is better is to own both boards so you yourself can compare it equally. it is hard to come to the conclusion that one is better than the other without owning both. since it is rather impractical to buy both boards, i go with what a credible review says (like anandtech)

Artin, I used to be that way too myself & trusted the reviews.
But now I take reviews with a grain of salt & just suggestions,I now look in forums & read what other user's experiences are and then make my descision.
A few times I got a mobo because it had great review & got really screwed.
Take for example the MSI springdales/canterwood reviews, almost every review said it was a great board bla bla , even AT said it was a good mobo.
In the end a lot of people have problems with them & a whole bunch of them ended up with dead boards after abios flash,I had a 865 MSI board & it was hell.
