P4PE or P4S8X

Ok i want a asus board,the more i read the less i understand.
upgradeing to a P4 2.4 512mg ram ect. i dont overclock . mostly just a gamming rig.
give me some advise or help on this one.

What about the new P4SDX coming out? Would that be a better choice? I missed this and posted a similar question. I wondered if the performance gains warranted the higher price tag above a P4PE.

i've had both. The p4s8x was harder to configure and failed after 2 months. I've gotten a replacement from Asus which I am selling. I went to the p4pe and am much more satisfied. It appears from other forums that the ps48x has been a disappointment.

*I* prefer to stick to Intel chipsets w/Intel CPUs, soooo.. my vote goes to P4PE..

The only drawback to the P4PE is the 4x AGP port. I have read that the difference currently for running an 8x card in a 4x slot is very small. Maybe others can shed more light on this? Other than that the P4PE is a proven board that rocks!

I am going to be putting on ein my new rig.

Overall, the performance gains from 8X AGP are marginal at best - No games available today even come colse to saturating 4X AGP. 8X AGP is a marketing gimmick right now.
