I'm going to update the bios then. Anything else I need to do after the 711 update? I already have the latest INF and other drivers.

Thanks

Yes you need to start overclocking after that

Madellga, I'm gonna support you on this one. This thread is full of smart asses who can't admit false starts are not a normal 'feature'. I don't care if you don't restart your comp at all or do that 5 times a day. What kind of argument is that? I start my computer twice a day, before and after the work. Is that so uncommon? - I don't believe so. Some people care about things like the environment and electricity bills and don't run them 24/7.

"Until someone tells me it broke something, IT IS NOT A PROBLEM. " - haha, "until Hitler kills somebody IT IS NOT A PROBLEM" - that's what Roosevelt and Chamberlain thought as well. You are making a fool of yourself like they did. P5B delux has been on the market for the last 2 months. Most of the computers build with this mobo are still like newborn infants. Even 6 months of fail starts won't kill anything, but a year? maybe. I don't want to find that out.

"However, the biggest problem i see there isn't the double start, it's you" - excellent, is there anything you would like to add with a pinch of sarcasm? What is wrong with you guys? Fail starts are not NORMAL. What makes you think that? Is that necessary for a proper boot? NO. Is there any official statement from Asus saying this is a NORMAL thing? Not to my knowledge. I still have occasional double starts with bios 0711, I don't like it and I admit it.

There have been issues with user accounts on the forums...lots of weird stuff happening lately.

I very much dislike the double restart thing (which rarely happens now with the 0711 bios).

However, to start saying they are a defect & preaching the gospel of Asus is Evil might be getting a bit too carried away.

Oh, & the double starts don't happen with light OCs either AFAIK.
Only with high FSBs...

So please don't make this motherboard out to be malfunctioning when it's not.

I am not saying Asus is evil. In fact, I love Asus, never had problems with their products. My motherboard and video card are from Asus. Plus I'm far from replacing the motherboard - I think it's a great mobo. The question is where these double starts originated from. done on purpose by Asus BIOS engineers? why did they remove it in 0711 then? why didn't they say it is NORMAL as some people here claim? The fact that this does not happen with 0711 is enough evidence to support the hypothesis that double starts where in fact NOT normal. And that's the only point I am trying to make. Anyway, go Asus. Oh, and I can't RMA the mobo because I removed Asus logo from the northbridge (plus used my own thermal paste) - that gave me 5 degrees Celsius less.
