P5B DELUXE WIFI Hard Drive Issue

I followed this guys instructions because it seemed to lay it out step for step, this is my first windows install with this system.

But one thing im stuck on.

followed instructions for AHCI installation {link above}. under the device manager settings it does indeed show two hard drives labeled as

Disk drives
-WDC WD1500AHFD-00RAR1
-WDC WD1500AHFD-00RAR1

Under the device manager it also shows controllers as

IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers
-Intel(R) ICH8R/DO/DH SATA AHCI Controller
-Primary IDE Channel
-Secondary IDE Channel
-Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller


Now my problem. Under My Computer it does not show or reflect that i have two Hard drives.

It only shows one hard drive as

(C: ) Local Disk 139GB

Why is it not showing my second hard drive, in the past usually after a fresh install it would show the secondary hard drive and if you go to open it it asked you to format then your good to go. Here i dont see anything to show my missing (D: ) Local Disk.

Can somebody please help me get this sorted out. Id like to start xfering my important files to my secondary Hard drive for storage

did you run Western Digital diagnostic software to make sure the invisible drive is functional? I once had a bad Seagate drive that was seen in the bios, but not under "my computer".

I have an idea. Your second disk isn't partitioned or formatted? Open up the disk management and create a primary partition on it.

The easiest way to get there is to right click on "My Computer" and choose manage. From there you'll see disk management. I forget the harder way.

If it already is partitioned, then there may be a drive letter conflict (very doubtful on this). You can right click on the partition and change the letter assigned to it.
