I just receive my advance rma from asus for my sandy bridge replacement; set it up tonight no problem. However, a hour later after i reactivate window 7, audio is gone so I had to reboot, however, the computer freeze at ASUS logo screen and I have to clear the cmos before the system will boot again. What give? is it a bio issue?

I am also wondering if I should reuse asus brown box to ship out my board for rma as the box they used to send out my p8p67 pro is quite small, barely any bigger than my mb board itself.

I am worrying if I reuse the box and it got damage on the way since the box is so small and asus refuse to refund my 210 dollar.

Generally those brown RMA boxes have padding inside which perfectly conform to the shape of the board they shipped you so I would probably reuse it and save yourself the expense. Sometime they have printing which identifies the RMA # and return shipping address.

Or just put that box inside a bigger box you trust to make sure you get your money back.

I would use the box they shipped it to you in. As that is obviously what they deemed to be adequate packaging.

If you do it any other way, they have the ability to make the "insufficient packaging" bullshit claim.

Sorry to hear your RMA has problems. I just ordered the same board.

My asus p8p67 deluxe has been freezing at the asus logo screen randomly since sp1 windows update. It's not a new b3 version as micro center still doesn't have the replacements.

If you're not already using the latest 1502 BIOS, try flashing it and clearing CMOS again.

My P8P67 Pro has given me nothing but problems as well. I suffer from the occasional random system freeze while I'm in Windows.

Microcenter has been getting B3s. I got mine there 2 weeks ago in Tustin, CA. They just have really low stock that sells quickly.

using 1502 with no problems(p8p67 pro B3) on a i7 2600k overclocked 4.5ghz with offset voltage 1.3v and stable 24hrs prime. I did clear cmos before installing and updated from 1305 to 1502 as soon as I booted.

Bah, don't tell me this. I just had to reactivate windows due to the recall/replacement mobo as well and haven't rebooted yet.

I had a different issue with my P8P67 Pro (both B2 and B3). I lazily kept my Windows 7 installation that I had on a P55 board (P7P55D Pro) and just plugged it into the P8P67 Pro. I couldn't get the hard drive to boot in AHCI or RAID mode, even though it worked fine on the P7P55D Pro. Probably different drivers I guess.

After reinstalling W7 fresh I'm running in RAID mode with no issues.

You may want to try reinstalling your drivers on the board with the latest ones from the web - just to make sure it's not the drivers that were the problem.

Day 2, not much issue... another day or so and it should be safe to send in the motherboard.

Is this random freezing issue common to all p8p67 boards, or is it just the pro that is affected this way?

I got this new wierd issue where my computer is refusing to read any external hard drive. Could this be a motherboard issue or window os issue?

I don't have this issue on the P8P67 (B2 or B3).......

I will add that I did have it initially on the B2 revision when I flashed the BIOS and used it. I was getting random freezes until I read about clearing the BIOS CMOS settings (a pain) and this solved the freeze issue for me.

Life would be easier if the BIOS upgrade did this for you.........

It's not just isolated to the Pro boards. I've seen reports of freezing issues for the vanilla and deluxe boards as well.
