Hey guys,

So I got my 2600k and Asus MB in yesterday put it all together and nothing happens.
I get a solid red light next to MEM, no post no signal from video card at all. I've looked around and seems like others are having some issues. Ive tried removing one of the sticks of ram and pressing the mem button, also clearing the cmos but no luck. Anyone have this problem and might offer some advice? I read someone else having this issue and he rma'd his board and the replacement came back and hes still having the same issue.

Im using Corsairs Dominator 1600 memory

Well I got it working. I cleared the CMOS which I read was working for people. It was a strange problem but I'm glad I didnt have to send back the board.

Why do you buy new stuff right after hitting the shelves?

God damn it. Haven't you all learned your lessons from previous launches?

What is the appropriate wait time for this? Once they release a revision on their boards? (any idea when?)

When enough brave folks experiences these problems first, thus paving the way for everyone else who aren't as brave to beat their chests proudly.

According to the ASUS site (forums) only the vengence series is supported at this time. Luckily that's what I ordered before checking compatability.

I'm having the same issue with the same board - CPU LED red light is on, it won't post at all! Went ahead and put in an RMA to Asus... sigh

Nuts, actually it was the Corsair site I got that info from. Shouldn't post when it's three hours past my bedtime. Work nights.

I had problems with my build and finally broke down and called tech support. I was getting a solid red led BOOT_DEVICE_LED that would say on and nothing on the monitor not even post. Video, ram and cpu all seemed to check out via LED feedback.

I was going to RMA board but he insisted that i go through all his steps. He insisted that it was video issue and asked if i was using DVI as video source. He said switch to VGA to which i replied that isnt going to fix this. He got kind of curt and told me that i need to at least try for him to help me. I used a DVI to VGA adapter and then my post screen was showing up and i was back into my BIOS. I gave up shortly after that so not sure if this is something wrong with my monitor, the MB or new build bugs.

Felt like an idiot but the tech support guy was right.

Actually for this board they tell you to use dimm 2 for 1 stick and dimm 2 & 4 for 2 sticks.

This was a new one for me

I only signed up to say that this is the only solution that works.

Was skeptical at first, but for some strange reason, using a DVI-VGA adapter instead of dvi-dvi (or dvi-hdmi) made it boot into BIOS and Windows again.

So if someone else is googling this annoying issue, fortunately it is easy to fix.. As easy as plugging in an adapter.

I'm not getting this
You plug the DVI cable thats in the vidcard port to the VGA port in the monitor with an adapter?
If you plug it into the monitor DVI port it doesnt boot?
WTF?

I agree!:\ OP, what's your system specs anyway? Monitor & GPU? Is it a CRT, LCD, or even a huge HDTV?

it depends on how much of your life you want to spend as part of the Field Debugging Crew for Asus and Intel.

i wait about a year for product to be out and to receive rave reviews.

because product release cycles have shortened, i might need to compromise on that.
