not a bad starting point. i think there are a lot of arrangements that are pretty simple to learn

Only two songs were on the "DO NOT PLAY" list at my wedding - The Macarena - overplayed since 1990, and Canon in D - overplayed since 1690. It's a pretty song, but frankly I'm tired of hearing it.

Canon is a pretty much a played out song.

It sounds good to the untrained ear, but any musician will tell you that musically it is not a very sophiticated song.

Played out = yes.

But I disagree with your implication that simplicity = bad. Any decent musician can create/perform a sophisticated song well. It is only the very rare and extremely talented who can create/perform a simple song and make it sound great.

The cello part is great, but what I meant to say was the violin part on the cello.
