It is a very simple tune technically and can often become boring for a trained ear as it is merely an excercise of basic triad arpeggios and diatonic linear scales played in very simple rhythm, but when the right mixtures of instruments and players ensemble this little tune, it can sound amazingly deep and rich even to the most trained ears as more accomplished musicians often tend to embellish even the most simple basic music with their own improvised harmonic variations as they listen. I still love this tune.

I always thought the Taco Bell Canon was a symptom of too much Taco Bell, not a song. Who is it by?Originally posted by: oboeguy

Canon is a pretty much a played out song.
It sounds good to the untrained ear, but any musician will tell you that musically it is not a very sophiticated song.

Heh, good one. A music pal of mine and I always call it that (the music). I like your interpretation. I think it's by Will B. Sicksoon.
Don't get me wrong, I love overly technical, highly theoretical mental masurbation pieces, but I recognize them for what they are.Originally posted by: Imdmn04

Bach's "air"? Any particular one? He wrote hundreds.
Not really. Pachelbel was a master of counterpoint. He wrote a gigantic body of fugal music, and was one of Bach's major influences.

And? Who said anything about masterpieces until you showed up?

One of the greatest songs ever.
Edit: I've never heard of Bach being friends with Pachelbel. According to this link (http://jan.ucc.nau.edu/~tas3/jpachelbel.html) Pachelbel taught Bach's older brother, but it also simply says that Bach admired Pachelbel. There was quite an age difference between the two.
