ok please advise..i put a HDD inside this thing...
writing seems to be fine (about 10mb/second) but reading from it is much slower..during a transfer it goes a few % then stops for a few seconds then goes again...at a rate of approx 2-3mb/s..anyone experience similar problems?

How do you open the damn casing of this thing? I took out the screw in the back on one in the bottom (the one that voids warranty), but no luck pulling the plastic parts apart. Is the darned thing glued together?

the plastics are not glued together...dont make the mistake I made!!!

The sides can be pulled out, just use some force(a flat head for initial separation). You will break one or two plastic hooks, but not until they are half way out. You can use something to push the hooks outward toward the ends of the side pieces, but i didnt do that, so i broke a few.

The front plastic piece is easier. Just pull it away toward the front of the drive!!! I made a mistake again by prying it upward, b/c i thought it was glued on. Trust me, just pull it.

Heh, ok, a few broken hooks and a couple of light scratches and the top part is off. Now how do i pull the burner out? I don't think a human finger can fit in the casing with the burner in. Is it the metal things inside that hold it in so tightly?

I believe these drives support overburning if my memory serves me right! Oh, and please do upgrade the firmware.

Review I read said they'll write up to 99:59min, might be worth a try.

Damn burner isn't supported in OSX. Crap, could have sold it to some mac friends for money. Time to go see if there is a hack available.

It works in OSX if you use Toast.

Too bad the native OSX writer doesn't support it. Oh well, guess I can't have everything...
