I went to the Best Buy on Ann Arbor-Saline Rd. today and was just about to leave broken-hearted when I spotted one that had been hidden in the 9200 stack. Bought it, and it's a 9600 Pro! Deal is still on!

I don't need an XT, I need that 10% coupon you mentioned. Is it in your local newspaper or a mag?? tia.

I'm just curious. Would this card be much of an upgrade over a g4 4400 128 meg card ?

I upgraded from a 128mb 4200 at 4400 speeds

It's not an amazing difference. But it is present. In particular, your DX9 games will actually use the DX9 features. You see the Geforce4's beating the 9600's in some benchmarks because they are only doing DX8. If you can liquidate your old card for a good price, and you're not interested in spending even more money to get a 9800np (or a 5900 non-ultra!) I'd say it's worth it.

Basically, the upgrade made my new DX9 games look better, and now i can use AA/AF in my old DX8 games.

Are you sure that's a PRO? that's almost 2.0 GPixel fillrate!
and according to ATI's site, that's a XT.

Anyways, here's a ATI Radeon Pro (refurb) from Newegg I just got (for comparison).

I grabbed a 180338 at CompUSA today. I'm hesitant to open it and check due to the 15% restocking fee.

Nevermind, someone else already got a 9600SE with a 180338 S/N.

Pleasant Hill BB had about 100 of the 1804* ones

Are the chances of scoring one almost nonexistant, since the 180339 ones were older stock?

really? I was there from 10-10:30 this morning and not a single one was bought. There weren't 100 (i hope you didn't think I was serious), but there were at least 10 when I left.

Sorry to bring this back to the top, but I was able to find one @ Compussr in Vegas on Sahara down from Palace station. 99.99+ tax after rebate. There was four other ones(180339xxxxx) when I left around 7pm. I was going to just get the 9800 pro for 249 from ati but this was too good to pass up after rebate. I may still get the 9800 pro and this may replace the wife's ti4200 (sims online only/other wise known as a waste of a good card).
