Painkiller Demo due out today

Nice lighting , smoke effects, motion blur and physics ...looks real good....... allthough a better than average system is required...

Wow pretty sweet game so far. The graphics are excellent and I love the blood splats hehe, the physics seem to be perfect ? best I?ve seen in a game. Gotta love what those creatures are tossing at you and the way you can stake them to the wall

The sound and music is so so and it needs a little more mood like when those creatures start popping out of the barrels. That gave me a little scare at first. If this game comes out before Doom3 I?ll be buying it!

It was ok. The graphics were pretty good, but the gameplay felt pretty straightforward to me.

two things though

the stake gun is soooo much fun!!! needs to be a bit more powerful because the guys near the end are too powerful for it to be realy useful

the weapon number 1 secondary fire, that one is just way too powerful, if you know how to dodge your enemies or can find a safe spot then you just have to fire it and let the gun do the trick while the enemies come after you

the first level I used the stake gun the most
second and all to the last level I used the secondary fire for gun number one the most
last level I used whatever that thing I started with

Nope, but you can change the levels from the pentagram interface before you hit the button to play when first starting.

You are right, this would be a kickarse multiplayer coop game I hope that include it in the final version.

Get it from fileshack.com then.. its 200 something megs i think.

Damn Fileshack, says that basically nobody is downloading it (7% load) but it won't let me either.

It uses the same physics engine that Valve is licensing for HL2. Havok.

Wow what a game this is. JUst played the whole demo and i loved it all. GOod music suiting the mood, nice levels and excellent graphics. Loved the gameplay and it wasnt jerky at all. Great explosions and the last level was fun. Id recommend this game to any fps gamer..definately a must have.

OK, I got it last night and played it this morning (late for work again ) HOLY CRAP, this game has a scary ass atmosphere, it reminds me a lot of Return to Castle Wolfenstien. Whoa, those flying mofo's scared the crap out of me the first time I saw one.
I wish it had a little more color (all grey/dark blue/brown) but I understand that it's not supposed to be Mario Bros.

Why does everyone find this game scary? I was playing Silent Hill 3 for a few hours last night and went right into Painkiller to try it out when I couldn't take any more of SH3. Painkiller actually got me in a much happier mood then I was in before hand and made me smile and enjoy life again. Silent Hill, on the other hand, got me really depressed and creeped out at everything.

yea, i didnt really find it scary at all. the weapons are entertaining...different from the usual. visuals are pretty sweet, and getting to play around with the havok physics engine before hl2 comes out is fun. other than that, i'd say it was just a decent FPS...not great. maybe the full game with story will make up for it.
