I just started playing paintball a few months ago and I'm really hooked! I've been using rental Spyders. Now I want to get my own equipment.
The problem is I don't what is a good and what is reliable. Does anyone have any suggestions? My top price range is $275.00.

Thx!

I have a piranha that I have put about 1000 rounds through. I just don't have time for paintball any more. if you want it, I would be happy to sell it to ya. I got lots of accesories too including a 12oz and 4 oz tank.

i would say a TL+ is more of a low/mid gun.. not a mid gun...
i myself have a piranha sts g3... upgraded a decent amt... i will say its a low/mid gun... its basically same gun as TL+

no matter how much you mod it... still a low end gun.. you might as well start with a used cocker/mag.. i would go for a mag... lower matience and smaller... but if u have a nice cocker working well.. it looks really nice...

i wish your budget was 1k, you'd see the difference in performance... but having said that, between all the markers in the 800 to 1.3k range, if you want accuracy and virtually no ball breakage inside the marker... get a shocker. angel if you are into speedball (ultra rapid fire (but not long range and accuracy of a shocker) ).

I disagree. A properly modified gun can be just as good as a coker.
If you want something you don't have to maintain, get a Tippmann.
My old carbine hasn't been touched in the 4.5 years I've owned it.

I have JT exellerator 4.0. Decent gun. A little finicky with the o-rings (needs new ones every now and then) but otherwise reliable, cheap, and very accurate right out of the box. If you want the best in terms of reliability get a Tipman. I've played at many places with many people. I always see guys tweeking their leaky Angels and cockers, but never the guys with tipmans. If you just want to play and not have to worry about fixing your gun and doing maintenance, tipman.
