Painting Inside of Case - Tips?

There are plenty of articles about painting the exterior of a case...and even a few on how to paint the front cover (or use vinyl dye, etc). But I haven't seen anything on painting the inside of the case. Anything special you have to do to the interior to prep it for painting? Sand it like the outside? Or since it's not pre-painted can you just prime/paint/clearcoat and be done?

As with painting anything, it's prudent to make sure the surface is clean first off. Soap and water, or Iso Alchohol will do it. Sanding is a good idea when you want the paint to really stick. Otherwise, as you said.

it doubles the workload, but i have painted the inside of 3 cases, and on the last one I drilled out the rivets and totally took the case apart... it made for a -LOT- better finish and was really easier in the end, you didn't have the awkward angles that you do when the case is still assembled. Just make sure you don't fill in the screw holes, and where metal touches metal don't put paint there or it won't go back together snugly like before it was apart.
