I have two of these CPUs running @ 2.6 on a Asus PC-DL right now using a stock Intel HSF and looking to see if I can push them further before I add it to the Fold.

I got the voltage set at 1.37VDC 165MHz FSB 16X clock multiplier on a Rev. 1.05 Motherboard.

I didn't know the 1.6 xeons had hyperthreading.

All P4 based xeons have Hyperthreading. They had it before the normal P4. (I'm almost sure.) I got a pair of these also. The company ships pretty fast. Still haven't had time to hook em up

I've got an Asus PC-DL with real Dual 2.66(6) Xeons currently. Loving it.

I think I'm going to need to jump on this deal. I'm just hoping for a 2.1Ghz (133x16).

I've been needing a new dedicated Linux Box.

(OFF TOPIC - Hmm now what linux distro to use for the Dual Xeon PC-DL ... Onboard SATA, Onboard Gigabit, and an ATi 8500 ... I could give 2 shits about the onboard sound)

I would not consider myself a crazed overclocker, although many people who know me would say that I am crazy. :roll: I got my processor for free from a friend, so if I burnt them up I was out nothing. Reading on the boards I heard nothing but good things about the Asus PC-DL so I picked one up from newegg. I have had these running for about a month at stock speed when about a week ago I started reading about some of the speeds they were getting out the processors and my curiosity was piqued. I decided to follow in the footsteps of the brave men who explored previously uncharted territory and was fortunate that it has worked for me so far.

Would this be good only for file servers and workstations? Are there any benefits of trying to use dual xeons in say a gaming machine? I have not heard of any game software written to take advantage of dual processors.

Wow lnguyen, I didnt know you lived in Gaithersburg(I live in the kentlands). I always thought the Montgomery County Anandtech user base was incredibly small.
