PAL8045 compatibility, ECS K7S5A

I was looking at this website:

It details the compatibilty of MB with the PAl8045 Heatsink. Under the ECS K7S5A, it states that the 3.1 revision is not compatible. How can I tell if my K7S5A is compatible with this heatsink. I have no idea if my motherboard is a 3.1 revision and I don't know where I would look on the motherboard to find out for sure. I'm planning to use this heatsink with a Papst 8412NGL 80mm fan, but if I can't use an PAL8045, what heatsink should I use with this Papst fan to cool an Athlon XP 1700+ that's not oc'd? I was thinking about the Swiftech MC462-A heatsink.

When I was checking out the three top Heasinks, I asked about compatibility and was informed that the 8045 WOULD fit the 5A -- I went for the Thermalright AX-7 in the end, you don`t have to take the board out (it mounts solidly on all three socket lugs) and definately fits the 5A easily without hitch as you can see...... I used Arctic Silver rather than the supplied grease or Pink pad of death..

It cools my 1800+@1580Mhz with a YS-Tech 3000RPM 42CFm fan with ease.. A lot less hassle and cheaper than the Alpha and is as good or better than the Alpha or expensive Swifty going by reviews with the same fan fitted to each..

Addendum:- I just read that motherboard compat list - good job I didn`t buy the Alpha, mine`s a rev-3.1 - the small white sticker is near the PCI slots on the left

I have a PAL8045 running on my K7S5A right now no problem. I also happen to have a rev. 3.1 board so I'm not sure why they say it is imcompatible.
