Well considering the path the Republican party is heading down now...I doubt we will even see a Republican nominee in 2028.

I think Letterman is winning out of this. Increased ratings for him always = Win. Increased ratings may not win for Palin because it's generally due to something negative about her (Katie Couric Interview, etc.) People who watch Letterman WANT to watch Letterman, people who watch Palin may want to watch her or may just want to watch a train wreck

Sure if he said that about the First Lady and her children. Whether he gets fired is up to his employers not me. On the other hand I doubt there'd be much reprecusion if they made the same comments about Palin and her daughter.Well maybe some of the Wingnuts will exhibit faux rage like they are doing here but that's about it.

She then claimed his joke was in bad taste, and that his explanation that he was talking about the daughter that actually got knocked up was a "convenient excuse". Lauer asks her if that statement isn't in poor taste and she says, "no, maybe I meant Willow was fed up and she'd do something to him." Now that's a convenient excuse!

A grown up intelligent politician would have accepted the apology and moved on. Palin instead is calling for people to walk out of comedy shows anytime women are the subject of a sexual joke. I don't think she saw the numbers in 08, but women didn't flock to her because of her lack of testes. It ain't gonna work this time either, especially given women of all ages are more likely to be Democrats.

Palin probably never heard the old maxim about not picking a fight with someone who buys their ink by the barrel, but it goes double for the guy who has a daily tv show.

I have to be somewhat sympathetic to Bristol Palin, being a teenage mother is nothing new, and she is just a new famous face.

If Sarah Palin wants a political career, she has much to live down, and painting it all in bright tabloid colors does nothing to advance her political career as a see all sides of the argument republican spokesman that people can respect.
