Note that the rebate is a prepaid card, so if you want cash you'll have to do a cash advance at your bank.

Went there yesterday to grab a EVGA GTX460 w/768MB ram for the $129 AR and saw this. Never had a Palit, but went for it. So far, so good, but I haven't really tested it with any games yet.

I tried looking it up but I guess I don't know enough that I seem to be looking at greek words on there. SO....how does this compare to an ATI 5770..which is within my budget. Replacing a 4830 FYI...

About 25%-50% faster than a 5770 and probably around 60-100% faster than your 4830, which is just under a 4850 in performance: http://www.anandtech.com/show/3909/nvidias-geforce-gts-450-pushing-fermi-in-to-the-mainstream/5.

Will depend on the game - newer ones will show the highest performance gain.

I have to replace my GTS 250 that got fried when my wife spilled milk into my computer, and the price looks right on this card. I dont do any real hardcore gaming, but this is only 30 bucks more than getting another GTS 250, and from what ive read, it seems like a huge increase in performance. The Palit seems a good bit cheaper than other brands of the same card. Does anyone know how it compares as far as quality and reliability to the other brands? Thanks for the help.

Hum. This or 6870 ? Was going to wait for the 6870 to drop but this is tempting and a MC is only a couple of miles from where I live... Hum...

If you don't need a lot of gaming performance, there are GTS 450s available for ~$90AR or less that would fit your needs. They're more powerful than a GTS 250 and draw less power to boot. The relative cheapness of the GTS 450 has finally made most G92 cards obsolete.

So this deal is still alive. Any thoughts on the noise/heat of this cooler on it?

I think it is on sale till 1-2-2011?

I picked this card at MC 2 days ago great deal imo. With dual DVI monitors (Sammy 23" led & 27''LCD temps on GPU-Z & HWM run around 35c to 38C idle. Gaming in the mid 60's to upper 60's if I remember corretly and in WE (7.4) temps go to 79C max. Fan is not loud imo for normal use runs 40% and fan is quiet. Fan will get a little louder while gaming. If it would have been to loud trust me I would have taken it back I like a quiet system. One thing I don't know if my sensors are accurate because my CPU sensors show my AMDII X4 3.1 645 at 21C idle at times which is lower than my room temp and that shouldn’t be possible. I use this computer mostly for video editing and multitasking so do not game a lot (right now COD & just got BF2 today) or OC so this card is working out great for my uses. No problems so far with the card running the 258 drivers or the 260 drivers.

MC for $20.00 offers a 2-year warranty if I have any problems they said you get a new card equal to or a credit store card. So I think I am going to go back and get the warranty for $20.00 because close to the end of 2 years warr. I am sure I will find a reason to tell them why I am returning the card.

Also you have to register for the rebate within two weeks.

Just an FYI guys, my Palit died on day 3 - after I had sent in my rebate info and threw the box out (UPC was cut out so it didn't matter keeping it). Fortunately MC let me exchange if for a new one (without box) and I've had no problems for a week. I'm keeping my fingers crossed the first was just a fluke.

Palit should have a warranty beyond 30 days. Check to see if you have to register your product.

I won't be surprised if mine dies. After using it for awhile it starts to get kind of "micro wavy"... it seems like electrical interference... or might be heat related. I'd love to pull off the heatsink and apply some AS5 or Ceramique but that would void the warranty. I updated the BIOS and that seemed to help for about a week but the waves started coming back a few days ago.
