Man, OD is killing me! Several calls to the OD site weren't successful, so I went to the store; I gave the the alphanumeric number for the $15 off 50 coupon from www.jumpondeals.com - they said they have to have the coupon. Then I tried to pricematch it with CC - they said I have to have the ad...I told them to call, they said that's not their policy. Were they screwing me over or is it really their policy to take only paper coupons and have to have an ad to pricematch?

hello,

you need to print out the 15/50 coupon, and I just showed a printout of my CC cart for 74.99 - it really depends on the person you're dealing with, if they will honor the coupon

no sh!t.. OD cusomter service has been going down to toilet..

it really depends on what csr/sales u get

strict one : no deal on PM/coupon... , seems they don't care about u
good one : PM coupon very easily...

recently special order a laser printer from OD for store pick-up and it damage in transist..
they told me can't locate an replacement one any more and give me 2 option..

1. wait for backorder (not going to happen)
2. small amount dollar off any REGULAR price laser printer ..

WTF ?

My hard work finally paid off (numerous calls to OD.com and several visits to retail store). I got an ignorant cashier - he was a college student who didnt' really care or know about OD's policies. I ended up paying for the Palm for $40 + tax; then when the $25 rebate comes, I would have paid only $15!!!

I went to CC and got the ad; the ad said "$25-50 off all PDAs" but doesn't specifically show the m105 for $75. So I went to CC's site, added it to my cart and printed out so I can have something to prove the Palm was $75. Then I went to OD's site, added the Palm to my shopping cart then applied the $20 off $75 coupon and printed that out. Just in case that $20 online coupon isn't accepted, I also printed out the $15 off $70 coupon. So armed with my coupons and ads, I went to OD retail.

I successfully price matched; then I told him I have a $20 coupon - he applied it - yay! Then he saw my other $15 coupon then applied that too. I don't think the coupons were stackable but he surely thought so! Hehehe...$15 for my Palmy!

So how is OD with their rebates?

I can't believe they only cost this much now!?! I guess this is what happens right before a company is going to tank. Did you hear on the news today that Palm got removed from the S&P500 Index. If they stay below $1 in price for too long, they will be completely de-listed off of the major markets.

Personally I don't think they are worth much more than $30. While I'm glad I have a PDA again this thing reeks of Fisher Price especially compared to my previous PocketPC. It definitely gets the bare necessities done but that's about it...

newbie question....

what software is a MUST for palm OS ?

btw, only serial connection, is there a USB cable ?

do u guys know where to find cheap palm software / accessory ?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
anyway, bought 1 today..
my 1st PDA...

print out CC ad and manager call CC to verify 74.99 price
use a 15 off 50 B&M coupon which expire today..

buy a extended warranty for 11.99

final = 64 (include tax after coupon) + 11.99 - $25 MIR (will take at least 3 months) = $51

hmmm.... i've tried atleast 5 or 6 times on the phone and never got anyone to price match it to CC.... damn it. Guess I'll try visiting a store when I go out of state tomorrow....

Did anyone successfully get a CSR to price match to CC on the phone...? If so... do you happen to have their extension? Thanks...

well.. I really don't think you should buy an extended warranty for a $40 palm.. you are paying 25% of the total price.. and after one year probably you can get a M500 for that much.. ;o)

M105 comes only with a serial connection.. there are additional USB cradles, but you can't take advantage of the improved sync speed. Basically that is a USB--> Serial adapter.

for the must have software, go to www.palmgear.com. they have a list of essentials and most popular. Most of them you can try before you buy. The one I have to pickup are palmboy.. a free gameboy emulator and afterburner, overclocking tools..

Just a note about the serial connection, if you are just syncing normal everyday tasks, calendar, etc then you won't notice much or any difference between serial and USB. If you are syncing Avantgo or frequently installing programs then you will notice a difference...

CC has changed the price of the M105 to $99 but Staples has it for $89. I went to OD today with my printed $10 off coupon and the Staples invoice. I had no problem with the price match and the $10 coupon I gave turned out to be a mistake because when the cashier inputted the coupon number it rang up for $15 off. Then I got the rebate for $25 coming. Altogether I spent $50. I mentioned about the CC price of $74.99 a couple of weeks ago and she said she would have matched it. She also said that if OD lowers the price within 14 days I get a refund of the difference.
