Ya, they're on CNet's list a venders at 48 bucks. Jeez, how incompetent could they be. CNet's reporting a $48 price, which I doubt they made the mistake as gateway's was found wrong, and gateway's website sold it to us at $38.

You know, that CNet price might be considered an "advertisement" and Gateway now might be subject to the false advertising and bait'n'switch provisions of some state's consumer protection laws.

I was reading my states guidelines and I found this, "If you respond to an ad and find the advertised goods are sold out, you have the right to a raincheck allowing you to buy the goods later at the sale price. You don't have this right if the ad mentions the number of goods left, or if the store is selling seasonal or clearance merchandise, and the ad clearly states that no rainchecks will be given."

Go have some fun folks.

I ordered two of these M515's yesterday, on separate orders. I received the first cancellation email last night, and this morning I got this one, wondering if anyone else has:

FYI - HR = High Risk. This translates into the statement that you ordered with a credit/debit card that you registered with Gateway/Necx for this first time with this order and requested expedited (overnight most likely) shipping.

I think it's the fact that they are lying in such a blatant manner ("it's not in stock", when it plainly is), and their repeated history of such actions, this is what is pissing people off.

It's not just Necx that does it, everybody else does. Remember the $130 Athlon XP/mobo combo from TCWO? I ordered one while they still supposedly had it in stock, but there was a problem with my CC and the order was placed on hold. The combo supposedly got sold out in a few munites; I called them to make sure I'll get mine and the rep told me they had plenty in stock, they just stopped selling them for that low price.

I got the the same e-mail. Is there anything we can do to fix that like give another credit card???

I'm still in the Shipment Pending state and wondering....does it have to do with shipping method? I chose Ground shipping. Those of you that are still pending, did you also choose Ground? Anyone get the cancellation that did not choose Ground?

Just curious.

then when I click on the order within that it says:

Plus I just started my account with them yesterday and I chose overnight.

So yeah.

I'm also still at the Waiting Authorization and Shipping pending...

but according to my credit card company, they AUTHORIZED the charge yesterday, so i dont know if its a good sign or not, that it hasnt been cancelled, will have to wait and see...

After watching this site for a month or so, I decided to finally pursue a deal, and give it a shot.

Thanks to everyone that finds the great deals and puts them out here, and i promise to do the same whenever i find anything...

All the mispriced M515s have been cancelled regardless of what the NECX website order status states. When I called this morning to inquire about their bogus cancellation reason, the CSR supervisor that I spoke to said that they changed the NECX P/N from the mispriced M515 in new listing to another P/N in the new linsting. "Technically" as far as NECX is concerned, the M515 currently listed on their website is not the same part as the previously mispriced one. The is no chance at all that an "ignorant" warehouse worker pulled or will pull a M515 by mistake since the mis-priced M515 was always showing 0 stock in their system.

really hate NECX....... they have screwed me over two or three times now in the last 45 days..... i am going to pursue them about my orders etc until i get them via email and phone, and if they refuse to reinstate my orders, i will be taking them to court, that's it, had enough bullsh1tting around...

Well, I just called them and a "Jason" at ext. 10556 says my order will "Go out TODAY" with enhanced shipping because it was their fault that it was held up. Do I believe him? No. But it will be just more ammunition for my BBB complaint.

Gump, although I fully agree with halik, and hold the member status that they have attained in the highest possible regard, I have seen a couple of "Diamond" members, where diamond must only refer to the tightness of their sphincter. I understand that they have probable seen it all before, but for some reason many senior members feel that gives them a right to spew obcenities at those whose posts they don't like.
