If you just need basic PIM functions, I think the Palm rules but if you want multimedia nothing compares to the Pocket PC.

Dell Axim. Overall decent (for the price). However some of the buttons are "sticky" (must be pushed repeatedly to work) and the D-pad doesn't work very well. I'm going to have to send it in for either a fix or a new model probably.

Thin, light and gets the job done. I've owned a ton of PDA's, both PPC and Palm. I love PPC's for their power, but nothing beats the Palm for simplicity.

I've got a Palm VII model (the kind with the antenna, black and white display).

Someone sent it to me for xmas a couple of years ago. I never found out who. All my friends and family deny sending it.

I don't use it very much.

ppc baby. toshiba e310. thin like a mofo and decently powerful. it was really cheap which is part of the reason i got it. if i could, i would trade it all for one of those new zires...

DOH! I meant to say a Zire 71. It has a 320x320 color screen (that looks a LOT better than the Axim), 16MB RAM, ~150MHz ARM processor, sound, camera, etc. Not to mention it's significantly smaller than the Axim, which is a big deal because the Axim was just too big to carry around.

Tungsten T... Love it, small, keeps my crap in one place, doesn't crash randomly. (I've owned a dozen PDA's, keep going back to Palm, the Axim is too bulky, sony's too expensive, Handspring just too damn wierd, PPC's in general except for the HP 1910 are too big, battery life is too short)

Wife's been using a Sharp Zaurus for about a month & likes it a lot, but she's got a purse to keep her crap in, I just have pockets.

Pliablemoose's version of nirvanna=walking into store for parts & having the model # & serial # to the yard tool/car/etc

I have my wife's dead ex-husband's driver's license #, kids SS #'s, etc...

Even keep a height/weight memo active on both kids, every time they go to the Dr's office I write it down.

It's my personal memory upgrade
