Here at KDComputers
This isn't extremely hot but it's the cheapest I've seen them for a while and the $5 shipping is also very nice. Most other places are selling these for $7 and up. These fans do have a 3 pin connector also and they are 21db.

Note: Mininum order is $10

$3.19 with $6 Flat shipping.

BGMICRO

These are 2 pin connectors (still can use on 3-pin header, just won't have RPM)

Hmmm, so these have the 2 pin connector that you have to clip the piece of plastic off to use?

I hope these are good, I just ordered two! The fan that came with my Antec case started vibrating, producing alot of noise. Thanks!

These are supposed to be pretty quiet, right? I was thinking about one for my computer, and another for my Yamaha A/V receiver.

Hi,

I bought 6(total) of these from KD Computers, They are VERY QUIET. they are a 3 pin connector that fits on your motherboard. The reason the above post says "2 pin" is because it has only 2 wires.

The third wire that has RPM signal is not present, so you cannot get RPM off your MOBO sensor. It doesn't really matter tho, These fans are TOP QUALITY panaflos, and are VERY QUIET. They spin fairly slow so they will last a long time.

They are by no means high CFM, but i have a Alpha 8045 heatsink on an AMD Athlon xp 2100+ with this fan as the 80mm CPU fan (i turned the fan so it blows ONTO the heatsink, rather than sucking) and it keeps the CPU very very cool.

After doing this, i fired up IE again and ordered 4 more fans from KD and now my entire case is outfitted with these fans. (including my loud as hell PSU from Enermax) Now with a total of 4 of these fans, and 1 GPU fan, the loudest part of my case is my 7200RPM WD 80GB hard drive(which isn't that bad at all)

VERY QUIET
HOT DEAL

this is a VERY HOT DEAL!

Just ordered 4 of them from BGMicro. Thanks for the tip! My existing fans are loud and my AMD 1800 runs hot as @#$K so hopefully this will cool things down a bit.

None of them come with fan screws. The BG micro ones only have a connector for 2 pins, it's slightly different than the KDcomputers ones. The BGmicro ones have to be cut slightly to use.

KD Computers was selling these for $2.29 each about a month ago. I almost bought a bunch, but really didn't need them at that time. I should've bought them anyway because I need them now.

I'd rather live with the 2 pin connectors at BG Micro than pay almost double for KD Computers current price. I've heard that you just trim off part of the connector and you can use it just like a 3 pin connector on a mobo header or in a 3 pin to 4 pin adapter. Most Panaflo's don't come with the rpm lead anyway, so you're not losing anything.

That is correct. I bought 10 of them at BG back when they were only 2 bux each. You can just use a plier or scissor to cutoff one leg and it will fit your mobo perfectly. No need to spend twice as much.

I bought these fans from B.G. Micro a few weeks ago. They speak quality from the time you get to hold them in your hands -- noticebaly heavier, smoth blade edges and very little play along the axis compared to most any other fans out there. The bottom line is they are easily worth $10 each considering the price of similar fans you can buy.
My impression is that the FBA08A12L is a very quiet fan but not entirely silent. However, the noise is due to the still decent amount of air the fan moves as I cannot detect any sound coming from its motor. By default, the fan should come with a 2-pin molex connector. By cutting one of the conector legs off you will be able to plug the fan directly into a fan header on a motherboard. If you have some useless 3-pin fans reuse their connectors.
Either way, once you make the fan 3-pin compatible you can then use 3-pin to 4-pin adapter to plug the fan directly into a power supply.
If you want the most elegant solutions get the custom tails here.

Got a question for you techies:

If I plug one of the Panaflos into the outlet on the back of my Yamaha A/V receiver to cool it, will I get some fan hum noise through the speakers. The Yamaha is in an enclosed cabinet and gets a little warm. I wanted to cut a hole in the back of the cab and have it suck hot air out.

Now it is $6.99 at KD Computers, still $3.19 at BG Micro.

I've a few questions, hope you guys can help.

At this size: 80mm x 80mm x 25.4mm, can it mounts on Socket A heat sink?

Can this fan fit into the Enermax 330w PSU, model: EG351P-V? If yes, do you think it is good substitution?

I want quiet fans as the PC is next to my bed.

Vantec Stealth Fan 80mm 550-057 7.99 2 15.98
Arctic Silver 3 Thermal Compound 3gram 007-005 7.00 1 7.00

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Subtotal: $ 84.92
Please verify that the above information is correct. Tax: $ 0.00
If everything is okay, then continue to the payment detail page. Shipping: $ 5.00

Total: $ 89.92

The Panaflo's (I got 6) are quiet and I'm using them as case fans in my two boxes. I removed the PSU fan in one box and put in one of the Panaflo's. The AX7's with a Vantec (used because it is RPM monitorable) keeps the CPU WAY cooler (and is WAY quieter) than previously with Volcano II, which is LOUD! Best deal I could find on AR 3, too. This was a great deal.

Just placed an order for 3 of these fans. Thanks for the deal.

For my own questions, here is what I found after a little searching.

At this size: 80mm x 80mm x 25.4mm, can it mounts on Socket A heat sink?
Yes. 60mm to 80mm is acceptable.

Can this fan fit into the Enermax 330w PSU, model: EG351P-V? If yes, do you think it is good substitution?
This one not so clear. Looks like Enermax PSU comes with one 80mm and one 90mm fans. I'll take the 80mm out and install this Panaflo.

What about Antec PSUs? I have an Antec 350 Watter with 2 fans that's extremely loud.</FONT>
