Where do i get panaflo 21dB and like 25CFM fans fir $3?
seen people talking about them
i decided i'd save $25 and get these over the 1dB quieter silencer fans with 3more CFM
since i need 4 of them, like $8/fan can get kinda steep
for someone like me, just to make quiet case

and does home depot carry things like those.. 60 to 80mm fan conversion pieces?

man...I feel kinda ripped off. I had no idea you could get a case fan so cheap. I recently paid $10 for an OEM 80mm Sunon case fan. I do like it but I thought that was kinda spendy considering the little shop I bought it from didn't even want to give me screws for the thing and then when I mentioned it, they gave some crap sheet metal screws that didn't work!

Hehe I feel your pain flywheel. I've paid $10 too many times for Sunon or other random branded case fans...So I ordered 10 of those Panaflos for $1.99 apiece so that I won't have to buy any more for years.

Think of the profit margins on case fans if we can buy them for $2.49 or even $2 apiece from a wholesale electronics store where they're still making some kind of profit while they are sold in most computer stores for $10 apiece...

Did those come with molex connectors or are they just bare wire. Bare wire would be fine if you're running a fan bus but since I'm not, I'm curious. Can you even buy molex connectors if you have to wire it up yourself?

They come with a 2 pin connector that can easily be modified to fit a motherboard fan header. If you're handy with a solder iron it is also easy to build your own 4 pin connector.

The Panaflos from BGM are 2-pinned. Just twist off one of the plastic stubs and connect with 3-pin to 4-pin adapter..

Is everyone sure those are the L1A fans. the part number says Panaflo FBA08A12L. Are these as quiet as the L1As? I am trying to get my case quieter since those antex fans are just loud.

Yes, they are L1As. Basically the model number has the Amp rating tacked on to the end in print but not on the fans themselves. The fans are model # and take .1A or 1A so you just tack that on to the end of the model number.

these fans are just plain awesome.. if you want to pay and get OEM tails that replace the 2pin tails that come with the ones from bgmicro, www.pcmods.com sells them. they're under "fans and accessories". can get them in either 3/4 pin variety. $.99 each.. but shipping is a b!tch. basically doubles the price so get more if you can. 4 or 10, the shipping still comes out to about $7.xx ups ground.

so that comes out around $4 each. considering pc shops sell these untailed for at least double as much, it's still a good deal.

As some of the other threads on Panaflos have mentioned, you can just snip one of the plastic guides on the 2 pin tail of the bgmicro Panaflos and plug them into a 3 pin fan header on your motherboard. Or just do a little soldering, crimping, twisting to one of your power supply leads if you're feeling adventurous and want to save a few bucks.

Even if these fans don't push as much air as some of the louder ones out there, they still work acceptably well and are very quiet in comparison. I know the days of spending $10 per fan down at ye olde computer shoppe are over.

Edit: doh, I should reread the thread..already mentioned! Ignore my ramblings!

gotta love these. so quiet. all i hear on my computer now is the power supply, maybe the hsf(but i think it's the power supply), and the HDs. (again i still think it's the power supply). also, i got the tails from pcmods.com, great page and probably going to get a window kit for the summer mod this year from them. need rounded cables really cheap. anyone find those?

here's a heads up for anybody that's buying these fans. buying tails really kind of puts a sour note on this deal. however, i've found a way to make this a much better deal. case-mod.com 3 pin to 4 pin adapters with power pass through for just $0.50 each. and even better, you get free shipping if you order 5 or more. i personally think this makes the panaflow L1A's by far the best fan deal out there.
