This is a hot price but keep in mind that this is the 'H' model not the quiet 'L' model. This model has much more airflow than the L model though.

CFM: 39
32dB noise

If you can live with 18cfm instead of 24, this NMB fan for $2.50 at svc is a pretty good deal too.

5 for $11, 10 for $18.50. Plus, you can choose pickup option if you live in Bay Area and save on shipping.

Have to buy several to make this a good deal.

and they are $6.. YEEESH

bgmirco had em for $3
Guess that's why BGMicro ran out of stock :| But hey, at least those casecooler ferengis aren't trying to sell $3 fans for $11 + shipping like some other places do.

Currently, I have an order coming from Quickar. They are advertising L1As for $4 each. I'm having 15 shipped to Texas for $9.19 via UPS ground. While they are not in the reseller ratings, my dealings with them seem to go Okay (of course, this is my first time I'm dealing with them....).

I ordered Monday night; the package was shipped on Tuesday; and I received an UPS tracking number on Wednesday. So far so good. I just want to see if there is actually anything in the box....

*** TO MAKE IT QUIET ***

Just do a 7-volt trick, or 5-volt if this fan can run so slowly. Search the Web on how to make it. I am running my QUIET Panaflos on 7 volts, you cannot hear them.

Good luck. Awesome deal.

Does anyone know if these fans are terminated (bare leads or a connector at the end?). Does it have a RPM sensor?

I ordered some fans from here before LInk

Site looks just like quastar site and says they are related at the top. Just make sure to tell them to package the fans good. THey did a bad job of keeping the fans undamaged when they shipped them to me.

In general, airflow of fans like this varies in proportion to the voltage applied. So does the fan speed. The noise level is a function of the fan speed. The only real difference in these fans is the nominal speed they operate at, at a given voltage.

If you go to the Panasonic website, you will see information and graphs that tells you that the "H" model runs at 2950 RPM at 12 volts, therefore, at 7 volts, it should be running at about 1720 rpm, which is roughly equivalent to the quiet "L1A" model at 12 volts (1900). So by running this fan at 7 volts, you get just slightly under the performance, and probably slightly quieter operation as well.

If I needed fans, I'd jump on these suckers, because by wiring for 7, or even 5 volts, you still get a VERY quiet fan with decent airflow, but you have the option of running it at higher speeds, unlike the "L1A" model. These would be a great choice for use with a thermistor control, or a rheostat.

doc, thanks for the link, I just ordered 5 fans from them. I have a current low noise secondary computer that needs a real exhaust fan, and i plan to make a movie player box that just needs a little air flow as well which these are perfect for, and ya know, you can never buy good low noise fans localy.

I would like to know too.. Looking for 92MM. Whats with everyone charging for the leads lately.... I will not PAY for leads... every Panaflo I have ever bought came with 20 or three pin connectors... Seems totally @ss to pay $1 or $2 for the leads!

BTW: All Electronics has the 80MM FBA08A12L for $4.50 with 12" pigtail leads (they had 2 pin molex connectors last time I bought them) "Standard ground shipping to the lower 48 states is $6.00 per order. No Minimum order"

I have 2 120mm panaflo L1A's sitting at my house doing nothing. Maybe someday they will go back in, but I wouldnt mind selling them. 1 was never used, and the other one only saw the inside of my case for about a week or 2.

Quick, to FS/FT! Before the sharks attack! By the way this place has FBA08A12H for $2.95, but a $15 minimum (about 6 fans). Get 12 or more and the price drops to $2.49.

Edit (03/27/03):
Woah! I'm an idiot! That's the same place mentioned in the beginning! LOL! Oh well, at least you know that there's a $15 minimum now... <bows in shame>.

I recently got some of these puppies from MPJA, but they had bare leads!! Ok, they did not desribe this part of it, and they ARE an electronics geekhouse, not really a computer store. I was pleased with the order, which included some really bizarre items, but they are not marketing primarily to SVC or Newegg-types.

True...I've known the owner for over 20 years. More like an electronics surplus type parts house.
OTOH, his patch cables sure are a deal.

All KINDS of good stuff there! I just ordered 6....

I just finished a new case, and I used two of these fans for intake/exhaust. They really can move some air, but if connected to a rheobus, are VERY quiet once you get under 75% power!

I wish they had some Panaflo 120's, but WTH, still a good deal!
