Hey mistermac, for the three case fans of yours, do you have 2 intake and 1 exhaust? And how are they positioned inside your case? I think I want to get these case fans to cool everything down also.

Here is how I have the fans arranged: (This is in the Chieftec version of the Antec SX1040 case)

1 intake fan in the front, in the drive bay area
2 exhaust fans in the rear, just below the power supply.

I saw some recommendations for this arrangement in the Cases and Cooling forum so that's how I set them up. I don't really know whether this is the best arrangement, but it seems to work, assuming my temperature readings are accurate (which I wonder about since others are getting higher temperatures with similar processors and fans. My readouts could be wrong. One thing that could be a factor in my decent case temperatures is that I have heard that newer high-end gaming video cards generate a lot of heat. I am using an old Matrox Mystique 220 PCI card which doesn't generate any perceptable heat. Maybe that helps keep the case temperatures down. (On the other hand, I have (3) 7200 rpm hard drives, a CD-RW drive and a DVD-ROM drive in the case. Seems like those would add to the heat.)

Hi guys....update for you....

I have some of the SVC 35cfm fans right here....

They are made by "Young Lin" model # DFC802512H 2.0 WATTS

I have tested them side by side with the Panaflo 80mm "H" series that do 39 CFM and they seem alot lower than 35 CFM to me.

They are very quiet though....I just dont think that they do 35 CFM, that's all.

FYI for ya.....

just to clarify, the 35cfm 29dba panaflo fan is not the L1A
the L1A is 21dba and 24cfm

SVC seems to peridodically changes the brand of their cheapo $3 80mm case fan. When I got some in Jan, they were Powercooler, which seem pretty loud to me. In my main PC, I'm using all Antecs (the ones that come w/ the SX8xx cases, which I'm told are Sunon), 2 in front, 2 in back. The Antecs are a little quiter than the Powercoolers were.
I was thinking of replacing all the Antecs fans w/ Panaflo L1A's. They would be even quiter, wouldnt they? I don't have any specs on the Antec fans.
BTW, I've ordered from allelectronics before w/ no problems. Great place for low price electronic odds and ends. Will bgmicro ever have these in stock? Are their cold cathode kits any good?

When I bought my PAL 8045 from SVC back in Jan., I got the optional 80mm YS Tech 48.5CFM they had, which has a 4 pin connector. Can I get the 3 to 4 pin adapter w/ RPM lead SVC has to monitor the RPM of the YS Tech? It's strange, the last 60mm I had ran off the mobo, but drew almost the same amps as the 80mm YS Tech.
Also I'm thinking about replacing that fan w/ the Antec (Directron) or YL Tech (SVC) 80mm clear fan w/ blue LEDs. I lose a lot of CFM (but they look cool!) but at least the dBA rating on both are also lower than the YS Tech. Anyone know how good they are?

<< http://www.allelectronics.com/cgi-bin/category.cgi?category=220100&item=CF-109&type=store $4.50. shipping is not bad either. i have bought two 120mm L1A's from allelectronics, and they were shipped promptly, brand new as well (as far as i can tell). >>

$4.50 is an awesome price. I can't seem to find them anywhere on resellerratings or anandtech so I don't know how reputable they are. At that price it almost seems to good to be true, but then again if they did shaft you it's not like you'd lose your shirt over the deal.

I've ordered from them a couple of times and they're awesome. They ship promptly (too promptly the one time I wanted to add to my order the next day) and pack everything great. I wouldn't hesitate if you wanted to order from them. Be sure to pick up some other goodies at the same time to take advantage of the flat shipping. Their prices for split loom put your typical sources for the stuff to shame.

Yes, the Panaflos are quieter than the Antec fans. (I've got both).

If your fan goes to a 4pin connector right off the fan you've lost the RPM lead there. You'll need an adaptor that runs 3 wires to the fan it's self (like to the motor), the yellow wire going to the mobo & the red & black going to a 4pin connector.

Sounds like you're ricing out your PC

I think one time i ordered from them at 5:30pm and they shipped out my stuff by 6pm, which i think is very excellent service.
