redly1 - Why settle for an ordinary phone, when you can have a completecommunications center? The fully factory refurbished Panasonic KX-TG2570S Cordless phone gives you enhanced clarity with 2.4 GHz technology. It?s one of the most fully featured, advanced cordless phones you'll find on the market!

I tell ya the CTRL F (find) combination in IE works wonders ...

Yeah I'm tempted also, these are great phones and since I'm setting up my $212 ReplayTV 3030 I'd rather have a digital answering machine rather than my $6.95 per month voice mail.

Has anyone found out how much ground shipping is?

Where did you find this? I went to their site and couldn't find it. I ordered some using your link, but couldn't find it myself on their site.

v. reasonable shipping always makes me feel better about the deal & company. ordered one... if the rebate works, then it'll be a smoking deal even if it is refurbished. Do 2.4Ghz devices sometimes interfere with other electronics? isn't that in the microwave frequency range?!? $80.00 for brain tumors is not a hot deal! (j/k)

Fraggle - I'm pretty sure that cordless phones aren't nearly as bad for your grey matter as cell phones are.

I'm pretty sure that wireless internet wreaks havoc on 2.4G cordless phones, that's all I can think of now.

I have this phone--pretty nice. It's a heavy handset, and I think its interface is a tad clumsy (e.g. you have to press three buttons to get it to redial) I have had a few issues where the handset will be right next to the base and will say "Out Of Range" but all I have to do it sit it in the base and try again--it always works the second time.

I'm not sure if it conflicts with 802.11b, although since they both run at 2.4GHz then that is a definite possibility. The only other thing in your house likely operating in that frequency range is your microwave, believe it or not. I'll get static on the phone if the microwave is on and I walk by it. But as long as I'm not right next to the microwave I don't get any interference.

Oh yeah, I have one of those X10 Video Sender units to send mp3s to my living room stereo. It also operates at 2.4 GHz and when I tried to use that and the phone at the same time (in the same room) I got lots of static on both ends.

Anyway, 99% of the time this phone gives me no problems. I should have bought the model without the answering machine though, as I use evoice and find that to be much more convenient for me. I guess this one will be good as a backup though.

Finally, I bought this phone a year and a half ago for upwards of $200. Even refurbished I'd think you're getting a great deal. What's the warranty? 90 days?

I just got one without the answering machine for just over $100 shipped.. A great phone, although redialing and speed dialing is a pain..

I got the cobalt blue and it looks great. The silver one is awesome too!

Note however, this phone is not 2.4Ghz on both directions! It is 900mhz from phone to base and 2.4 the other way. Also, I read a review of their older model 2400 series and the 900mhz signal is not secure - a simple scanner can listen to you talking! I don't know if they fixed this in the 2500 and up models though..

hmmmm where did you get this deal... I think its wierd that it is a xoom site, and nowhere on the page does it link back to NBCi.... In fact even the ordering page is titled free xoom homepages... I called the ordering number amd of course they are closed, and I figured that nbc would at least have voicemail or a message something, but no it just rang... The Fax orderform goes to a PO box... I cant seem to find anywhere that you can even order items directly from the nbci site... I may wait till I can talk to someone....

I just checked out that site--I'd be very cautious of ordering anything from a xoom web site. Unless you can link to it directly from an official NBC link I would stay well clear of this.

Edit: Actually, on further inspection, this site does seem to be legitimate. Just to be safe though, I'd call and order by phone on Monday.

Edit #2: Ugh... I just don't trust this... YMMV

Well I take it back.... That is a hot deal of the day not sure from what day though. Looks like the 13th... because of the url 1213... It looks like xoom and nbci have teamed up I got an email from em.... todays is business plan writer deluxe... That has the url of 1217... Look about half way down the page and on the right... Click on it and boom its a xoom site...

http://shopping.nbci.com/Looks like the deals are offered from someone else, but they are paying for the space to be the deal of the day and have it ordered through the nbc/xoom site...

Here is the email I got...
