Yes, Panasonic plasmas are quite nice, I was going to buy one until I saw a Pioneer. If price is no barrier, buy a Pioneer, otherwise there is no other set that beats the Panny, IMHO. The '08 Panny models are supposed to have better blacks, and I think they finally have HDMI 1.3 ??

I think it's still an 07 screen cuz it's 1024x768 res, but I have one and I love it, great price for non-black friday.

Its an 08.

This model is supposed to have better blacks. Didnt strike me as much of a difference from the 75u, but its still an awesome price.

What's frustrating about this new model is its anti-glare coating.
As much as it helps with glare and any reflections, it's just too matte-looking and kinda "dulls" the picture a bit.
I think a glossier screen, like the old 700u, with the new improved contrast ( brighter whites, 1,000,000 dynamic contrast) would have made everything pop a bit more.

I definitely agree, after shopping plasma displays for almost a year. While not quite as effective at muting glare, the glossy anti-reflective coating does work well enough (unless you put your TV in direct sunlight ... not good for plasmas anyways) and adds the "pop" you refer to.

Reminds me of the nice NEC LCD computer displays (before they went cheapo). I have a 90GX2 and a 20WMGX2, both of which have an anti-reflective coating instead of the matte finish. Makes a big difference IMHO.
