Panasonic 46" 3D Plasma - $1499-$600 = $899 (Costco)

Those of us who prefer plasma, don't have a lot of choice when it comes to smaller screens. I was almost ready to get a G25 when I found this deal for a 3D model. The TCP46G24 is a Costo-only model - 46" 3D unit that uses Panasonic top of the line panel.

Panasonic doesn't market a 46" GT25 or VT25 anywhere else and you get Costco's extra year of warranty.

Correct. It is instore only. I had a costco.com order in process so called to ask if the price would be adjusted. The answer was no; they are separate operating divisions with different buying arrangements. So I cancelled the order and got one from the store.

That's the one. Panasonic doesn't make a 46" 3D set for general distribution -- only for selected retailers. Actually, it's what a TC-P46GT25 would look like if it existed ...with a pair of glasses.

We set it up last night and really like it. If you're in the market for plasma, this is a good deal. It's about same as the current non-3D model on Amazon and you get the Costco extras (90-day return, second year of warranty). If you use and Amex card with warranty extension, you even get a third year of warranty.

The store I went to was out of the Panasonic 3D Blu-ray players but the Sony is on sale so we're going to get one of those instead.

I jumped on it. Roughly $1000. I was planning on waiting till about April when the new tvs would come out and the old one usually drop in price but I figured I might as well get it now and return it if I need to (I wont be taking it out of the box anyway).

The sales tax was calculated on $1500 so I paid just under $105 .

It's not online at all anymore and I suspect the stores will be sold out by the weekend.

Panasonic announced a new line of panels at CES (VT/GT30). As with the VT/GT25 lines though, there are no 46" models. I haven't seen any reviews of the new line yet.

Also, the warehouses are promoting the wifi enabled Panasonic 3D blu-ray player this month. It works out to less than $1050 (plus tax) for the TV, blu-ray player and a pair of glasses.

sI have a newer Sammy plasma. Burn in only happend when there is a logo on teh screen (Like the fox Logo on the bottom right). Also, it only happend when the screen transistions to fully black (like in between program and commercials). that said, it only happens for about 5 seconds, then it goes away. Should not be an issue.

FYI right now Amazon has a 50" Panasonic 3D plasma for $999 - it's pretty incredibly tempting, I might cave and get one.

Is that the check-out price for the 50GT25? If so, that's only $20 more than the non-3D model ... definitely a good deal.

Bigger is not always better though; you have to have space for it.

I just called to see what they were selling the 46gt24 for and they said they could not discuss prices over the phone, bummer.. I live over 200 miles away from the nearest Costco, anyone know if the instore price still includes a 3d BluRay player and what the prices are?
