Im using a 512 MB Muvo Mp3 player
I've been getting Panasonic AAA batteries from the Dollar store cause they cost 25 cents each
I get less than 3 hours of battery life on my mp3 player with music/radio
I got around 12 hours with Energizer

Does Panasonic AAA suck for anyoen else or is it my MP3 player thats a battery juice eating machine?

Opinions>?

Lol most likely counterfeits or look-alikes...try buying some from a walmart or something. It should probably be heavier

the "dollar store" batteries you have are probably not even alkaline. They're probably the "Heavy Duty" kind, which do suck

I admit it's been a while since I checked but last I heard almost all Alkaline batteries were very similar. There are only 3 companies (that I'm aware of) that make Alkaline batteries: Duracell, Eveready (Energizer), and Rayovac. Pretty much all Alkaline batteries are made by one of them regardless of the label. If you don't believe me, go buy batteries of various brands and one pack of the 3 companies I mentioned. Now peel off the labels and I bet that all of them look identical to one of the 3 companies. I'm pretty sure Panasonic batteries are made by Rayovac, so that probably explains why you've had such bad luck with them. In MY experience Energizer>Duracell>>>>>Rayovac.

I'm not sure the link mentioned above is correct about the "industrial" batteries lasting longer. I could be wrong but according to the COMPANIES website all their Alkaline batteries are the exact same capacity (2850mAH for AA, etc.), whether they are the unbranded ones they sell to Bob's Discount Junk store, their normal Alkalines, or their Super Ultra Great Formula Alkalines.

BTW I almost never use Alkalines anymore. I use almost exclusively NIMH and NICD's.

Those Panasonic are either carbon zinc (probably) or zinc chloride. Let me guess, they're real light weight, and have a bit of a hollow sound, right?

Get yourself some Rayovac Max , or better yet some NiMH rechargables...

use duracell alkaline (unless you want to go to rechargeable nimh), I use those in my old nomad mubo 64MB (don't use very often now, not big enough ) and 1 AAA would last a heck of a long time. I'd say 8 hours or so. When it would flash low battery I would always have more than an hour left.

yeh, panasonic batteries suck

maybe they are 5 years old or counterfeits

Exactly. My dad picked up some Duracells from the Dollar Store for less than $2. On the packaging, there was a picture of a pink bunny

And back to Panasonic. They are the worlds largest producers of batteries. So I trust their quality.

Get Duracell, you'd get even more battery life outta those. Energizer are one of the worse mainstream batteries out there, Duracell FTW!

BTW, it's funny you mention this because I JUST had to replace the CMOS battery in a computer from 1999 because it couldn't keep the time anymore. Guess what kind of battery it was.

Thats right, Duracell.

J/k actually it was a panasonic.

I live in a city where there is an Energizer factory, making batteries all day all night. I have a friend that works there, and he has told me that all those batteries are the same If Dollar General wants some store brand batteries for example, they pay Energizer to print a different lable on the batteries that say "Dollar General Uber Mega Ultra Long Lasting Super Heaviest of Duties" batteries. If you wanted your own brand of batteries to sell to your friends, with enough $ just call up Energizer and they'll make em.
