I just got off the phone with amazon, and they shipped my DVD Player this morning, and they gave me a $10 Gift Certificate for it shipping late. This DVD player for $119 YAE! Also I found a review, it seems like they think of it as a pretty good deal, not bad for $300, but hey I got it for $119, so i guess it's a great deal...yae!

It was 199. add a couple of batteries and then use the 50.00 off coupon.
That would have made it 149.
I have now been reading about the panasonic and since the pioneer is out of stock I cannot decide what to do.
Does anyone have any reasons why one would be better than the other?

Just checked the site and it's out of order again. Seems it's really hot -- Yesterday I just ordered one and got my shipping confirmation this morning. Thought how lucky me!
If you guys decide to take one, better hurry up when next time it's stocked in. Anyway, $129 + s/h (I paid $9.40 for UPS ground) is pretty a good deal!

Got mine. Someone else received it for me, so when I got home I discovered that UPS had added a nice two-inch gash in the bottom of the box. I went through the bottom of the Panny box as well, but didn't touch the DVD player. Unfortunately, the player won't recognize that any disc is in player, DVD or CD. UPS angers me.

Wiseone, Amazon's tech info page says YES to VCD's and CD-R's and NO to CDRW. But...
If you read the user reviews, one guy says he couldn't get audio CDR's to work in it.

comparing the pioneer dv-333 to this panasonic model (both were about the same price at 800.com a month ago when they had the passport deal and coupons). i got the pioneer cause it plays cd-r cd-rw media.

pioneer: plays cd-r/rw (it works for me), loud player for certain disks (spinning noise), crappy remote, component audio/video + s-video

panasonic: doesn't play cd-r/rw, better remote, simulated surround sound, same component/ s-video output.

both are great deals for around $150.
