This is one kick ass deal and it couldn't be simpler. I love my Panasonic DVD and I bought mine from 800.com 9 months ago. Their customer service is excellent, and the ship fast. To whoever asked the qn abt VCDs

yes. i checked this with the online technical sales person and the guy told me that it does indeed play VCDs.
to be certain however, you can just do a simple comparison between this and any other dvd player on the website and there will be a row on the table that says whether it does or does not play VCD/CDR/CDRW, etc.
i found that table to be more useful that wat was on the page itself.
