I think the assumption was that you would be able to use their 10-year anniversary sale coupon ($125 off) and also the Onepass membership (free) 1% discount...maybe even the 3% discount for using a Onecall credit card (in lieu of no payments/interest until 9/2005).

Unfortunately, the discounts don't work for this item since it's clearance.

That said, you can get a Sony Grand Wega 60" LCD projection HDTV for $3491.42 shipped (coupon, 1% off) and then get either the additional 3% off or financing option.

Not that anyone else seems to be paying attention to this thread but me but I've done some research and will share it...

The 60" set can be had cheaper at 6th Ave.

The 50" set is about $50 cheaper than the lowest price available at the moment.

You can price shop at www.pricegrabber.com and read the reviews and make your decision there.

The nice thing about onecall, aside from the good price, is that you can get interest-free financing until 9/05 (if you qualify).

After reading the reviews for the 50" and 60" sets, I think I'm going to sit this one out.

This sounds like a very good deal, I looked for LCD RPTV's over the weekend and the cheapest I could find locally was $3000 for a 50".
I looked for it on 6th Ave. but didn't find it.

Costco has been selling the PT60LCX13 for $3199 (in store only). This model INCLUDES the HDTV tuner AND Costco is including the $300 Panasonic stand that goes with the TV. Lot of locations are sold out, but its worth a look. Costco has the awesome return policy to boot.

For the most part, yes. But it...

A) It's a monthly fee you may not need to worry about...for cable in my area it's $10 a month extra to get the HD tuner box. No idea about satellite, but I imagine its extra to get HD.
B) OTA will often offer you channels you can't get through a cable provider...like I can only get WB OTA...cable in my area does not offer it.

An integrated tuner definitely isn't a requirement for most people, but for some its nice to have. And aside from this Costco deal, it typically is not a cheap option.

Anyway...I didn't mean to dump on this thread. OneCall's deal is fantastic. It'a just some people only like to buy huge (in price and actual size) items like this from a brick-and-mortar they can visit (and return the item for a full refund 5 years down the road if they want)

I have a stand-alone Samsung HDTV tuner that does DirecTV, cable and OTA. It was relatively expensive, but I love it.

I don't consider the integration of an OTA tuner all that worthwhile quite yet as my feeling is that most people are going to be getting their HDTV programming elsewhere anyway. I imagine if you live in a big city where the station signals are clear, that wouldn't be the case.
