This reciever sux. Look the the THD .09%. That is high when compared to other recievers. If your in the ballpark for a reciever, go buy the Kenwood vr-507 or Vr-509. These recievers are exellant for the price, quality and features >>
I wouldn't be too quick to say it sux on that statement alone... Before you do at least go down and listen to it. Then you can say it sucks. I have one and comming from an Onkyo 575 I have to say I was really impressed by the sound comming out of this amp.
So... If you want a CHEAP reciever... this is the one to get... What the website doesn't show is that the second line down in the specifications it says....
RMS power output...
1 khz continuious power output both channels driven 105 watts per channel 0.05 % THD...
It also states that the THD is .7 % driven @ half power...
THD is rated at 100 % full blast. Who listens to an amp maxed out? If you do you need a hearing aid or a bigger amp. I wonder how many CHEAPLY made companys really tell you the truth... If you think they are all on the same sheet of music. Look at the Power Supply ratings. 80% of all the cheaply made power supplys 30.00 and under are stretching the truth. I've seen some really bad PS's in my time. Over half never even come close to what they are rated at... I don't think it is really going to make that much of a diffrence.
Now if I were spending 1000 dollars I'd be buying a 5 channel amp from
www.outlawaudio.com ... And if you want to spend 500.00 take a look at the receiver they have.
The only reason I bought this receiver is because it was cheap... And it was on sale. & when I got it home I was amazed at the sound so... Hence... POST... I don't work for panasonic. Altho, I almost bought a LCD AE-100 projector from them... But, that will have to wait untill I get into my new house with a dedicated HT Room.
