I got the same TV for $1800 brand new, shipped. I don't know what the supplies are like at the moment but a warranty would be another $150 or so and with tax it puts it at the same price as a good deal on a new one. I would look to see about that. I think Amazon was selling them for $1800 recently and I got mine from Paul's TV.

They're going for 3k on amazon. They aren't being made anymore, and Panasonic is leaving the plasma business.

Yep with the limited stock out there, Retailers are jacking up the prices. Oddly today at work. We had a dozen pallets of ST60 sitting back of the house waiting for the upcoming sports book remodel next month. Such a shame since a $800 LED would suffice for the job.

Huh, I saw it at $1800 on Amazon only a week or so ago. I didn't think supplies would dry up this early. They weren't talking about closing down until March.

EDIT: I see the reason why it's $3K, Amazon is out of stock and just doing 3rd party. Camelcamelcamel shows that they had it at $1800 since mid-December which caused my confusion.

That reminds me, I need to get the foam fix on my TV. Anyone know the best way to get that arranged?

Happy dance! Just refreshed Amazon's page and 1 brand new P55VT60 came back in stock! I ordered and then got the Amazon rep to PM Best Buy's clearance price of $1599! So excited, should be coming next Tuesday!

After getting cryptic delay emails and runarounds from CSRs for a week and a half, my order was finally canceled this morning. Thinking about a Sony KDL-55W900A instead (the room is a bit bright, so an LED might be a better option). I'm hoping Amazon can give me a credit for the hassle with the Panasonic order.

Last night I noticed some image retention on my VT60.
It's from my Chrome browser. I can see the top part of the browser on full white pages. It's very faint but it's there.
Pixel Orbiter is grayed out but set to Auto. I ran the Screen Wipe overnight and it got rid of most of it. I'll run it again tonight and see if it goes away.

Talked Amazon down to $1599 on the Sony set. Any recommendations for having the TV sit a bit higher (like a small shelf)? I have a small center channel speaker that sits in front of the TV now (Paradigm Cinema CC). My current TV (Panasonic 42PX60U) has a tall bottom bezel, so the center sits nicely right in front of it. The new TV has a very thin bezel and I'm afraid the center will block the screen. It only weighs about 45 pounds, so I shouldn't need too much to sit the stand on.

I am in the same boat. Not sure what your set up looks like but my TV in on a 3 shelf stand. The TV is on the top shelf and the center speaker in on the second shelf.
I am going to wall mount my TV up a couple of inches so I can move the center channel up to the top shelf.
