Update:
Bought the VT60 instead. Looks great but I will get some time on it and calibrate it.

OP:
Anyone have the Panasonic ST60 yet?

I was waiting for the new TVs to come out before getting a VT50. Apparently the ST60 uses the panel from the GT50 and some reviews are saying it's about as good as the VT50 and cheaper.

Plus with the ST60 I can pretend I am on Hawaii 5-0.

lots of people on AVS have the 50" which BB is selling for 999 right now which is a great price. reports in so far is that they are great sets and when caibrated are better vs the ST50 and come very close to if not beating the VT50 in some areas

60" still MIA, im waiting for it as well

The only problem I've heard from the early reports of the ST60 is input lag may be higher (20-25%) than last year's equivalent models. It shouldn't be an issue to most people, but if you intend to use the ST60 for anything more than casual gaming, you may want to take it into consideration.

That said, the ST60 appears to be a very good value.

I game (COD) on my TH-50PX500U and I'd never heard of input lag. I assume the ST60 would have less lag than my 8 year plasma but I can't find any numbers on my plasma.

It's still early, but one of the early reviews claimed this and said it was verified as they used two different methods to test. The numbers they reported were still relatively low (under 100ms, which is accepted as a threshold of being noticable to anyone) but marginally higher than last year's equivalent models were. The ST60 owners thread at AVS has people going back and forth over whether or not it's worth worrying about though most people don't think so. Looks like you're a member there too so you're familiar with that thread.

I myself have been considering a new set and last years GT50/VT50 and this years ST60 seem to be the way to go. It sure seems like the ST60 improved upon last years models in every way AND dropped in price. Tempting...

My wife got me the 55" version and it's a great TV. Highly recommended. I don't play a lot of games but my kids have never complained about any lag.

Glad to read that you're happy with the set. How long have you had it? The ST60s have only been out a week or two - unless you're talking about the ST50 (2012 model).

Honestly, I wouldn't worry about the input lag. Even to gamers, it's unlikely to be much of a problem, if at all. That said, it was something unexpected that has come up in the early reviews, so I figured I'd mention it.

Did you do anything to break in yours? Seems like a must for anyone who games or watches any programming with static images. In fact, I was at BB today and looked at the ST60 (on display but not in stock) and they still had a GT50 (2012 model) that had SONOS burned into the middle of the display. Not noticable until there was a blank white screen but hard to miss once you noticed it.

Salesman wouldn't let me leave without pitching me on a GT50 (at $100 less than the ST60 + a free calibration), but I think the ST60 may be a better set and should even cost less (with a little patience).

I did a 100 hour break-in with the solid color images from the AVSForum thread. Kids play xbox all the time and we watch a lot of TV that has logos and have not had a single issue with IR.

My bad, I have the ST50 55". I got it for Christmas from the wife. I forgot the model number and thought it was the same one.

I don't game or don't want 3D. My 65" S60 looks fantastic so far.

I've got a 50'' ST60 and I love it.

E: I also game on it (competitive style Halo 4 and COD) and while if I have motion smoothing and direct pixel enabled I do notice a "lag" without it I have no issues.

With that said, I have an on going email chain with Panasonic display and design engineers on the input lag this display has. I've run my own tests and have been in contact with others and we want a solution to it.

How does turning those two off affect the PQ when gaming?

I'm considering getting the 65" ST60 for my new basement. On one hand, I'm a sucker for good black levels, and apparently it excels there. On the other than, I do my share of PS3 and Kinect gaming, and I'm slightly concerned about all the reports of lag. Might go with a comparably priced 70" LCD...but I don't really want to. Hmm.

I find it tremendously irritating that the 42inch ST60 apparently isn't sold in the US. I wonder if I can special order it.

Quite frankly a 50 looks gaudy in my living room. It's simply too big to be tasteful.

Get the Panny Plasmas while you can. They are going to stop making them and shift focus to OLED. I love my VT30 and still happy I spent the money.
