I have been searching for a good monitor replacement at 32'', and I have been hearing very good things about this TV. Here is an AVS thread discussing it: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1216964

The only thing that kinda scares me is buy.com's horrid reputation for returning stuff should a need arise. This is $42.86 cheaper than the next cheapest (6ave) though, might be worth taking a gamble.

Does buy.com have bcb, ebates, fatcash or anything like that?
EDIT: shows 4-7% on the bing stores page. I just went ahead and placed an order, we will see how it goes

I buy from them a few of times a year -- I've an enroute order at the moment -- so I guess the one problem I had a few years ago wasn't horrible enough! I think the worst part was just -contacting- them. [I think I Googled a site which had their unlisted CS phone number!] They certainly aren't NewEgg or Amazon when it comes to readily handling customer problems... but they aren't quite a TigerDirect, either!

Seems odd that you're asking US!

For my $.02: my bedroom TV would be 12' distant -- on the far wall from my bed -- so a larger TV's an advantage, although 1080P resolution is not.

If you are placing it alongside your bed -- i.e., much closer -- or if you are mostly listening to news/weather/talking heads, then a 32" set might be ideal. Odds are you're the best judge... and if you and yours are happy with a 24" screen at 20', that, too, is just fine!

I.e., decide where it's going, how it will be used (and by whom) and what you've found acceptable in the past, and then you won't need -our- lame guesswork.

Up until now, I thought it was the best $450 I'd spent on a TV (now I see it could have been the best $380 I spent if I had waited :hmm. Before this I had a crappy TN based 32", and the viewing angles on that were poor. With this TV, the horizonal viewing angles are really good compared to most I've seen. So far I've just used preset settings (vivid setting I think), with the only change I've made to is the brightness. I've watched over the air signals and they look great, as well has used my Wii with component cables. I haven't used the composite inputs yet, but tonight I'll hook my N64 up to it.

On a side note, there are a lot of different settings you can use to adjust the picture to whatever environment the TV is in. Only complaint I would have so far, is that it only has digital audio output, no component audio out (my audio receiver only supports component :hmm.

FYI, I bought a blu-ray player from buy.com on black friday. it was crap, they took a return from me after 35 days and gave me a full refund promptly as well as paying for return shipping. Seems they must be working on customer service.

Got the TV delivered a few minutes ago
Beautiful colors, but a touch too bright out of the box. Will have to get some calibration done on this. According to that avsforum thread, motion focus introduces some flicker for regular desktop use, but helps with input lag (worst goes from 32ms to 16ms) in games and videos. Gonna have to check that out also.
