The XP50 is one of the best DVD players you can buy right now, and it is getting hard to find. It usually goes for about $300 by itself. e * tronics has the XP50 with a SA-XR10 Home Theater Receiver for $399!

The Receiver looks OK, but no s-video or component switching.

For reference, a similar package with the lower-end XP30 player sells at Sears for $999+!

For the low, low price of $250 after a $50 rebate. I'd jump all over this one, but I already own a great receiver, and just bought the XP30 dvd player (the same as the XP50 minus DVD-audio).

It's a great deal for anyone looking for a low-price dvd player with high end componentry.

I would consider it super hot. This DVD player has been consistently ranked towards the top of DVD player shootouts in AV enthusiast websites/forums. The new Panasonic players are using cheaper internal hardware, but this one has the famed Faroujda deinterlacer. For details see:

Take a look at the XP30 review. The XP50 is the XP30 with DVD-A support.

I have the slightly lower end XP30 model, and its fantasic. Plays DVD-Rs too, for those of you who jumped on those deals.

The receiver is nothing to hoop and holler about, but I think this is a great deal for the dvd player alone. The XP50s are very hard to find these days.

my credit card is trying to jump out of my wallet on this one. has any used that receiver? my current receiver does not do digital anything, so if that receiver is not terrible, i am going to order one of these packages.
