Brownie waffles, tried it once and it is super.

BTW, can anyone share a good recipe for pancakes batter? Never able to make a fluffy pancake.

Substitute buttermilk for milk. You may need to add a little extra too. For some reason buttermilk make them fluffy but not cake like.

Does that actually work?

I got a Fasta Pasta (microwave pasta cooker) off Amazon & it actually works amazing. Takes the same amount of time to cook as the stovetop (~10 minutes), but you don't have to babysit it or worry about overcooking it...add pasta & water, stick in microwave, voila. Includes a clip-on lid with drain vents too. Stupid, but it works!

$460k pledged?

https://www.3dhubs.com/3d-printers/deltawasp

That printer already has an attachment that lets it print clay. And its printing area is already roughly circular. Griddle that thing up, swap clay with batter, start printing. (Admittedly, it's a bit on the tall side for pancakes.)

So for Kickstarters that are targeting $5k but get $250k, what happens with that extra money? Do they make the product really amazingly good, or is that used to buy a few extra cars for the project owners?

We all know from Oculus. Exceed goals, develop product then sell to a big company for huge profits.
Don't worry you'll still get you pancake printer you pledged for.

Waffles have syrup traps.

If you use a 3D printer to make syrup traps, you now have waffles.

Only the good ones! There is a lot of crap out there. Amazon & Youtube reviews help filter out what is crap & what actually works. Like, my IP & rice cooker both get used pretty much daily. And there's a lot of a trickle-down usage on different appliances. For example, I use my bread machine a lot for RideFree's 13-cent loaf, which gets translated into sandwiches, paninis (aka smashed sandwiches), pirate eyes (egg in the middle), French toast (and French toast sticks), meatloaf, etc. Total prep time for the bread is 2 minutes:

So for 2 minutes worth of work & less than a buck, I get fresh bread whenever I want it, which I can then use in a bunch of different recipes. Fast & economical = good buy!

I guess that's one path to take.

If you want to be lazy about pancakes, pour the batter into a brownie pan and bake the things in the oven. No need to stand at the stove to keep pouring and flipping them. Sure they don't look pretty, but personally I don't think most of food's appeal is in how it looks. Form shall follow function.
