Does the PancakeBot flip the pancake?
No, the commercial quality non-stick griddle allows you to simply slide a spatula under the pancake giving you the freedom to flip it at anytime you are happy with the color contrast.

Waffle maker cooks both sides at the same time. Waffles are still the superior product.

Does that actually work?

I got a Fasta Pasta (microwave pasta cooker) off Amazon & it actually works amazing. Takes the same amount of time to cook as the stovetop (~10 minutes), but you don't have to babysit it or worry about overcooking it...add pasta & water, stick in microwave, voila. Includes a clip-on lid with drain vents too. Stupid, but it works!

Hmm. I saw the pasta maker and wondered how well it worked. Now I know!

Yes, that pancake pan works great. I have made hundreds of pancakes with ours. You can also make perfectly round eggs in it if you want to cook up some Egg McMuffin type sandwiches. Or even better, you can make two pancakes and two eggs and whip up some homemade McGriddles.

Blasphemy!

Just got my cast iron griddle (10.5") and have done pancakes and enchiladas on it so far. You can get them nice and crispy this way. Highly recommended for a measly $15.

too small, gotta go full length

mine may actually be larger then that, I can get 8 slices of bread on it. 2 across 4 deep

This thing would be fun. Once. And then it's a $150+ gadget that has one function and that's to make a single pancake, slowly.

Half the fun of making your own shaped pancakes are the blobular abortions that you end up with on your first couple attempts.

"Oh sorry son, you wanted Hulk. Ok. It's now Amoeba Man".

Doesn't matter because French Toast has already won the war. Let the silly waffles and pancakes battle it out for second best.

lol.

"Oh sorry son, you wanted Hulk? Let me re-program the software to exact Hulk dimensions."

I agree. That doesn't sound too exciting. This is something that would have that 'treadmill affect' most people experience around New Years. That is, buy a treadmill, use it a week, and then let it collect dust for the rest of eternity.*

*While collecting dust at the base, the top rails are typically used as a clothing rack.

I always figured a griddle probably works best on a gas stove also, which is something I will probably never have. Maybe not though. My mother has a big round cast iron griddle that might work well on an electric range.

Don't forget you can use them on the grill as well. And as far as enchiladas on a griddle - I like throwing them on at the end to get the tortilla nice and crispy.

Hmm. That sounds good. I like to make quesadillas in the cast iron skillet. A griddle would be better probably.

Every damned time we have a food thread here I end up buying a new piece of equipment.
