Chinese food, cooked by Mom & Pop Chinese Immigrant in their little hole in the wall store FTW!!!!

I used to go to one of those back in the day in NYC. They spoke no English, but they took care of a regular customer. I always got a free egg roll. No puns on that, please.

I used to get pepper steak, pork fried rice, BBQ rib tips and Pork lo mein. OMG...it was to die for!

As an avid asian food fan, I must say that they are worse than being the mcdonald's of chinese food, they are like the hot n now of Chinese food (remember them?). Horrible stuff.

But their orange chicken does stand out, it's actually decent. When fresh, its mid-level quality.

Don't get the chicken egg rolls though. My god that stuff tastes just like stinky feet smell after a couple hours of running.

no its not. they have everything pre-made. they just scoop it up and put it on a plate.

its not that great and its expensive. $7 a plate? pfft. i can go to a good chinese place and get a huge platter for a little more.

Probably because many Chinese restaurants are locally owned and operated. I prefer Dragon Den where I live, but it's a standalone establishment.
