I won't eat there after he stated he would reduce employees hours to get under the 30 hours necessary to make employees have to be covered under an employer based insurance. Yup same here. Never had one until after the I can’t have healthcare for my people because it will raise the pizza price by pocket change thing occurred. Then one opened up down the street. Seems like there are a lot of us, admittedly my City has tons of Pizza places but I never saw any business at the Papa Johns. Like never. Toward the end they were sending mailers for free appetizer, then free pizza with purchase of this, finally free meal for the family one pizza, one app and a soda.
Shortly after the everything is free just try us out offers the place closed.
Never accepted one of those offers and I’m proud that I never did.

I’ll admit I almost took the free everything coupon in to get free everything to then walk out the door and dump in in the trash in front of the window.

He's a good illustration of how many Americans (and let's face it, predominantly white conservatives) have an extremely narrow definition of racism that conveniently excludes their own behavior.

To many in this group, racism means only the obvious, deliberate trappings of it -- intentionally using racist slurs, declaring yourself a neo-Nazi, burning crosses. They're the sort who make token nods to MLK once a year (but think Black Lives Matter is evil), say "but some of my friends are black!" whenever you call them out on racist actions.

Real cultural acceptance means actual empathy and active consideration, not just lip service. It means adjusting your entire mindset to treat other cultures as equals in every sense of the word. And if you're white, it certainly means eliminating 'accidental' use of racist slurs and respecting the sincerity of NFL player protests.
