Haha i just ordered papa johns for dinner tonight. I think it's pretty good. It's amazing when you put the breaded chicken on.



I figured out how to get around this. Just call and say you were trying to order online but the website is not working. For me it wasn't showing breaded chicken as a topping to choose. Then say that you were trying to do online since you have a 50% off online coupon. So far the past couple times the person takes my order and applies a 50% discount no questions asked.

I have to admit, I like that idea. When I order a meatball pizza from a local joint, I always tell them I have a $4 off coupon, which is long expired. But they always have new ones and never ask to see it when I pick the pizza up.

I find Pizza Hut to be the best "value" for the cash. Their Achilles heel has always been the greasy dough, which can be circumvented partly with the hand tossed option and a large with 2 toppings for $7.99 is hard to beat. Although clearly mom and pop stores are the best quality if money is no object.

Worst to best in my opinion:

Little C < Papa John < Dominos < Pizza Hut < Sam's Club/Costco < Family run

Over-sauced pizza is bad. The cheese slides off. The crust gets soggy. It's messy. The proportion of crust, sauce, cheese, and toppings is critical to creating an acceptable pizza. Do not fuck with it.

For 5$ it was ok. Not as good as the Roundtable buffet but the pizza there was very thin and kinda like cardboard. They had some weird pizza combos like pasta on a pizza and sweet pizzas (cinabon type).

I also had Brazillian BBQ-style pizzas where they walk around with pizzas and you could grab as many slices as you wanted. That one also had unique pizzas like chocolate pizza or guava pizza.

TBH I like "shitty" pizza. I am not a big fan of gourmet or expensive pizza from some restaurant that supposedly makes the best pizza. I'm okay with terrible quality pizza from Dominoes, Pizza Hut, Pizza Pizza, or Little Caesars. Never had Papa Johns but I can bet my life I will like it.

before i even clicked the thread, i knew it was going to be about the OP not liking papa johns and that he just had to let the whole internet know what he doesn't like, and create a topic about something he doesn't like, so that he can not waste his time discussing something that he doesn't even care for.

I've gotten a few free ones from them (from deals posted on the web) and I'll always gets those as it costs them money and me nothing (other than gas) and I don't have a problem eating if someone else buys but I won't buy from them.

Kind of. They're anti-worker. They're against minimum wage (they already pay drivers less than minimum wage where they can get away with it), and they're against providing health insurance for their workers.

Papa John's here is good. We have no Pizza Hut as they closed down due to crapiness. Our local Domino's is terrible.

That said I still like the mom and pop pizza places when I really want pizza. Papa John's keeps the kid's happy on Fridays.

I'd file it as 'slightly better than the main chains'. I do get it once in a while.
