To use for aligning an ssd after installing operating system,

question on the integrity check policy "always/once/never", does that only refer to the alignment process itself today ? or will that affect how windows will eventually run when its all installed, on a day to day basis ? thanks

Why do you need the alignment tool for post-Windows installations? If you select the SSD drive during setup, delete all partitions, and then install Windows (as is often recommended by most) the setup will properly align both the system reserved partition and the C: partition for you.

need to manually align for xp, probably to 2048 ?

actually. question mainly is....its not seeing my ssd hanging off my existing system, to align partition before installation, so I'm going to need to check the alignment -after- i install, (with paragon hopefully, but not sure if those settings in screengrab are one time installation only)

nope....ssd isnt detected in bios. got sata enabled, tried ide and raid mode. it isnt a new mbd tbh......ssd hadnt even been thought of when it was new (and doesnt show in xp disk management)

to make sure im saying this right...question isnt about hanging the ssd off my existing, question is about the paragon setting above, whether its a one-time longer-duration install setting, or whether the different setting will mean longer every day use

If the SSD isn't detected in the BIOS, no software tool in an operating system is going to fix your problem.

true....just to clarify, i'm going to install the non-aligned xp on the ssd, and then use paragon to align it when its done. But want to check if the integrity check policy setting is one-time alignment, or if the check policy applies to everyday use

k reading this.. http://storage.toshiba.eu/export/si...dvanced_format/Paragon_PAT_User_Manual_en.pdf

page 12. looks like 'always' just refers to the one time alignment. so when it says 'always', it should really say "twice"
