I would like to create a parameter query that asks for the month instead of asking for a beginning and ending date.

Currently, my criteria line looks like this:
Between [Type the beginning date] And [Type the ending date]

To view the records for July 02, I have to type 7/1/02 and 7/31/02. I would like to be able to type July 2002 and have all of the records listed.

THANKS

Can you create a simple form that will fill in a list box with the month.
Then feed the selected index into the Query.

This won't quite accomplish what I need.

I need to view a list of all of the clients that are seen in a particular month. I can do it fine with a parameter query that asks for a beginning and ending date, but I am trying to save some effort.

Another option would be to create an additional text field for the month or a table containing the month in text for one field and the index in the second field. Then just adjsut the query to build the data from the index from the month table.

Will get you just what you need.
I think he wants to avoid figuring out which is the proper number for the month in question.

Access won't process the month name in a parameter query.

You would have to create a combo or list box with the month names and then programatically define to access what the month names mean.

That is why I suggest that he has a table that has fields for the month in ascii ^ numeric. Then the result of the numeric field can be fed into the query

Either that or a giant switch statement right inside the query that does the conversion right there. Also he might be able to use one of the date conversion functions to automatically convert the name but I'm not sure to what extent they work outside of VB.
