Now show us how many each had done by this point in their term and how many of those were done without going through the normal process of review and recommendation.

For bonus points show us how many of them were personally connected directly to each President, associates and their campaigns.

I'll start you off.

Obama. 22
Sure, but it's hilarious how you guys are frothing at the mouth over a few pardons. Better go buy another bottle of Jack if you're already triggered.

No one is triggered. People are merely pointing out that the orange shit gibbon is using the power of his office to benefit those close to him. That the man so worried about corruption is pardoning the most corrupt because they say nice things about him, or give him and his campaign money.

And you're the one who decided to post a tweet from his dipshit son like it was some kind of complete vindication and are now choosing to ignore that all you did was parrot more bullshit.

Blago will become a Fox News commentator postulating about the Democrats and TDS, and GOP supporters will completely forget that he was a Democrat convicted on completely unassailable corruption charges. He will be a "Democrat" talking about how extreme and socialist all of the other Democrats are these days. Do people think Trump let him out for no gain?

Part of Trump's existence is to have one side (His people) gloat over the distress felt by the others. Have people be joyful because of pain suffered by others. It really doesn't matter how he inflicts pain or the damage done to the society, democratic institutions, rule of law, the environment, our world standing. What matters is his base become accustomed to, and expect the suffering of others. These pardons are just one of many examples.

He's allowed to pardon as many people as he wants. He's still your president, deal with it.

It's not that people are gloating over normal people's distress, it's more like gloating over the distress of super-sensitive whiner control freaks who don't understand how political cycles work (they just had their 8 years of power and thought it'd last forever!). Besides, cheer up - Trump is doing what Bernie only talks about doing - increasing wages faster for poor:

He'll (Blago) become a champion of Republicans, by going "yep the Democrats are corrupt, I know, I was one!" That's how f'ed in the head right wingers are.

I laught at right wingers screaming "triggered" when they're literally talking about squeezing their gun triggers every chance they get. They legit are scared to death by every little thing these days. Meanwhile other people are going "You know all that sexual misconduct that for whatever reason was accepted by society? Uh, how about no." Or "Climate change has potential to be the most devastating challenge ever faced by humankind, maybe we should think about it?"

There once was a time when Pardons only went to people who had made simple mistakes and later had proved themselves as genuinely changed.

Recently we've seen that process sullied by idiots at both the State and Federal level who have openly thumbed their noses at the Courts to release people not even close to worthy, people who had violated the public trust intentionally. In KY, some who had been convicted of murder and/or child abuse were freed.

What do we do about it? What changes need to be made and how can they be accomplished?
I never felt this way before, at least not to this extent. I'm feeling now, after the pardons that have been granted over the last few days, that the POTUS should have ZERO pardon power. Well, if reduced is possible, certainly that. If not possible, then ZERO. Why the hell should anyone be able to do an end run around the law? Anyone! Let alone a scoff-law like Trump, who thinks he's just the greatest thing since cheese wiz.

Except Trump has only pardoned 26 people in 3 years.

I was going to mention this however I want to point out a few things.
Obama’s figure is a little skewed because he technically forgave around 1700 for minor criminal offenses when the federal penalty was lowered. Most would agree if some dude is has served let’s say 10 years for a crime that has recently been reduced to 3-5 years its probably a good idea to let the dude go.
Other thing is I’m all for the President pardoning whomever he chooses, it is within his right to do so.
I will say he pardons people like a reality tv star with makeup and an agent. Just targets pardons who will get people talking. I do not think this is a wise strategy.

It depends (regarding pardoning people like a reality tv star). If he is pardoning people like the black lady he put in the Super Bowl ad then pardon away. Especially if it's related to criminal justice reform and someone black that obama passed over, that really resonates with voters and rightfully frees someone who should have never been imprisoned.
