Do you think I actively pray for kids to die of cancer? Why can't you call out that complete nonsense for what it is? Also, what you think might happen and what will actually happen are not the same thing.

You could be actively praying for kids not to suffer and live long happy lives. Unfortunately praying doesn't do shit for those lives no matter how much you wish, hope, dream, or fantasize. What does impact them is voting for people who support polices that actually does harm them. Its a reality you apparently think you can pretend doesn't exist... I'm guessing because your gut god tells you as much.

do you see healthcare as a supply/demand type of economy? I've asked this several times as have others. I may be on your List™, but you're answering someone else who asked the same question. This is where you typically buckshat out of a conversation.
pathetic, truly
You are on the list. The healthcare system as it stands is not a supply/demand type system. I've been advocating for MORE free market principles, not a perfectly free market. If you dump cash into the market it can't help but raise prices. If I buy things using your money I will act differently than if I was using my money.

So you want people to have skin in the game or quit playing the game, right?

So you think it could act as a supply/demand economy?

Check your premises.

Ok, take all the military away and see what happens.

It's like saying that a guard dog is useless as protection for the house because nobody has attempted to enter and kill everybody.
Yawn. That's not what I said, Bucky. If I cared enough, I'd look up a few of your quotes whining about people not using you exact words or attacking something inferred. But I don't.

He knows praying does nothing. Religious people pray to make themselves feel better about doing nothing.

Similarly, they know their policies do harm to many, they just don't care if they get some $ out of it.

The military protects us by existing so it helps the "common man".

Unlike you I will apologize if I misrepresent your point. I won't pretend that I know better than you about what you meant.

Sure it does. The math is simple. Today 20 million more people have insurance than in 2010. Who's paying for that? The rest of us, that's who.

Uh you do realize that not all of those 20 million receive subsides and I'm not aware of anyone getting 100% subsidy.

Your ignorance on the subject continues to astound me.

Why do you keep assuming degenerate liars are ignorant?

If someone will take millions off essential healthcare for a few bucks, you think they're the least bothered at all by playing dumb?

I don't think I did. That isn't something I say.

I was talking about the guy that I corrected the spelling for, not you. He called me a hillbilly, I corrected his spelling and you took a cheap shot at me while saying nothing to him. Of course, he plays for your team.

As others have pointed out, "basic supply and demand" doesn't work well when the demand is relatively inelastic. Lacking aggressive price controls, it's a recipe for for price gouging and ever skyrocketing costs. It's not a coincidence that this is exactly what has happened in our profit-driven healthcare system.

More importantly, for anyone who actually cares about his fellow man, your approach to reducing demand works only to the extent it increases human suffering and death. People who are priced out of the healthcare market don't magically become well. They become more sick. and many will die unnecessarily.

We are the wealthiest country in the world. We are also purportedly a civilized country. This means we have both the financial ability and the moral obligation to take care of those who cannot take care of themselves.

I didn't see his post. No need for personal comments, I agree. Plus you people make great bread.

I hope you take this as a light hearted joke as it was intended.

I'd correct the grammar of somebody who called me a moron, for sure. I retract my comment on the subject.

You can't look at what this industry has become and complain about "basic supply and demand" because the system isn't running on free market principles.

It's also not correct to call me a 'hillbilly'...it's Appalachian American.

Speaking of 'you people'...
