It isn't completely insignificant but it is no reason to overhaul the entire system. From your link that $41 billion was only 5.9% of the expenses.

That's what Repubs are attempting, isn't it, overhauling the entire system?

With less govt funding, of course, because billionaires need tax cuts.

It's the principle of the thing, right? The FYGM principle, obviously.

I would imagine that as long as I am responding to treatment & my performance standard scores stay good I will continue getting treatment. When the worst comes I will be offered Pallative Care & terminal sedation for end of life pain.

Btw, I am an otherwise healthy 60 yr old, I am not a frail 85 year old who might not be able to physically stand the rigors of treatment & who might decide they want quality of life over a longer life.

A civil society won't let me or anybody else die without medical care and treatment for terminal cancer pain

Oh and one more thing, while many of you are relaxing & enjoying a holiday weekend I dragged my cancer riddled arse to work because I NEED the money to pay for my 10K insurance policy. Plenty of skin in the game here, almost 22% of my gross income goes to health insurance

My insurance eats up an enormous amount of my gross income too. That's a great example of how there's very little affordable about the affordable care act

I think you should not have to go without insurance. Under the Republican plan, coverage with pre existing conditions are preserved

As for Medicaid the only cuts are in the growth of the program

So you're not going to be thrown off the program. I on the other hand as of today, will have no one that'll even sell me a policy next yr, let alone give me a gov't paid for program

So what do you get under the Senate bill? Who comes to help you?

Again, if the money that was supposed to be appropriated to support the markets (as was posted already in this thread) instead of being blocked by the GOP, insurance companies wouldn't be running up premiums like they are now nor would the be pulling out of unstable markets. Failure by GOP design with hopes to blame the failure on the Dems.

This has bee repeated, numerous times, in more than one thread.

Kudos to you if it sinks in.

Namecalling?

Who started this?

I called you a liar and meant it. **Almost** everyone here know it too. You called me a slang name, big difference.

If you can't tell the difference, I don't know what to tell you.

First of all saying someone is full of "insert 4 letter word" is namecalling. But as for liar, what did I lie about? I made the point that the people who are now getting subsidized health insurance are only able to do that because others are paying for that subsidy. Where do you think that subsidy comes from? How is that a lie?

You said it was because of your 'generosity'. Again, you have no generosity and I say you're a liar and full of shit because you even say it.

Dunno where that Mulvaney quote came from, but your linked article puts it differently-

The draft aims to curtail the Medicaid expansion mandated under the Affordable Care Act; while it does so less immediately than the House bill — starting in 2021— it ultimately calls for larger cuts to the program designed to help low income Americans and those with disabilities. The changes to Medicaid give more flexibility to the states, allowing them to decide how best to run their individual programs.

So states get to choose more for their citizens, I'm sure Ohio will step up and do right by their citizens.

Can hardly wait.

and the reason that the bigger cuts were put off was because Mitch McConJob thought he was smart by pushing it out far enough to not be picked up the the CBO, which typically runs a 10 year projection. They fooled him and ran another decade of it showing how bad the plan really is.

There's a reason that the GOP plan gets 12 and 17% approvals in the last two polls.

Actually, seems like the Ohio governor pretty much hates the GOP plan and is pissed about it. Maybe I misunderstood his statements on the subject.

My generosity in paying taxes.

So you disagree with my choice of terms. Fine. Just say that. Calling me a liar for that doesn't fit the crime

The Governor doesn't like the plan and neither does the Republican Senator from Ohio
