Just the drug for my treatment cost $5550,000 for 25 months of care & extra productive life. Expensive? Yes but when you factor in, only one ER visit, no hospitalizations, no surgeries besides biopsy & port implantation. It's actually a deal, further factor in that I needed no blood transfusions, no expensive shots to boost my white count & inexpensive low dose aspirin to manage my stroke risk from the cancer & this treatment is actually a deal. Consider also that I am still working, earning, paying for health insurance, not collecting SSDI.

Preexisting conditions need to be covered!

It's funny how many of them are all ra-ra gung-ho about having their wealth redistributed to a handful of billionaires (that in turn increase their savings even further by dumping poisons into their drinking water), but balk at the thought of having their wealth put to better use for their own health and the health of their actual peer group. It's fascinating, how thoroughly conned the minds of GOP voters have become over recent decades.

truly, inextricably, fascinating. "Haha, I keep getting poorer and poorer and sicker and deader by voting GOP...but the liberal tears! hahahaha!"

The white knighting for greedy billionaires is the most amazing part. Raising taxes at the top won't change their lifestyles in the slightest. Trump will still shit in a gold toilet.

They've been beating down the median family for decades under the banner & the guise of trickle down economics.

Well job creators....duh!

The reaganites have convinced now multiple generations of idiots that giving wealthy people a refund on their personal income will allow them to create more jobs. You know, in their business. Cause wealthy people totally spend their personal money on business expansion. We're talking corporate CEOs here--it's not like small businesses generally get a good shake from Repubs, either.

My adult son has Autism & has only one more semester before graduating from UMass. I have told him many times that no matter what happens to me he needs to finish! With proposed cuts to SSDI for the disabled he will need that diploma more than ever!

It is my goal to be alive next May to see my youngest walk down that aisle in cap & gown, graduating with honors

Buy stock in Kleenex! Cause I will be crying tears of joy & pride

It all works out just fine if those people do a little worse off, though.

Modern American conservatism.

They want to go to a system with fewer people on it. Less demand, they feel, will lead to lower prices for them. They want lower prices yet can't see that the rest of the world pays a fraction to cover everyone and everyone has skin in the game. Here, you cut people off of insurance but still give them service. Not sharp enough to realize that they are still paying (much more) for those people now. People not paying for services is a part of the huge inefficiency leading to higher costs. Providers don't just erase the charges. They pay bill collectors and if that fails, they pass it on to the paying customer. They employee extra people to try to get their money. Very inefficient system.
40 billion a year in unpaid hospital bills is not a major source for care cost.

Get a goodie... Clearly this is someone who's never actually had a circumstance in which they've needed to be on any kind of public assistance (at least insofar as they know, how are those public roads working out for you?)
Don't focus on the word and think about what he means. The "goodie" in this case is getting something for free that somebody else pays for. It is devishly difficult to take away "goodies" from people politically. Just a fact.

I wouldn't say that the US is incapable, it's just that too many mindless 'FYGM' and 'income redistribution rabble rabble' people that don't truly care about the well being of fellow Americans are afraid of America becoming some kind of Communo-Socialist Autocratic Welfare State, or some other BS.
If you want to help your fellow man then give to charity, it isn't the proper role of the federal government to provide healthcare to its citizens.

You said it was because of your 'generosity'. Again, you have no generosity and I say you're a liar and full of shit because you even say it.
My generosity in paying taxes.

So you disagree with my choice of terms. Fine. Just say that. Calling me a liar for that doesn't fit the crime

It's just a fact that much of the right don't care millions of americans will lose essential healthcare (you know, kids dying from treatable diseases) so long as they get at least a few hundred $ tax benefits. If anything it would surprise everyone if piece of shit like that were any bit concerned they have to lie about it to secure those funds.

Why not give it proper funding and public accountability?

A position that results in the denial of basic needs.

I think you know why selfish pieces of shit are selfish, even if you're politically obliged to pretend otherwise.

Much of the right (rural voters) will lose their own healthcare.

Less of them than the minorities, which is what matters. Trumpsters are the relatively wealthy bumpkins, because they tend to have the pretty decent jobs from being higher on the social totem.

Eg. white welfare a la the military doesn't build bases/factories to hire from the inner city.

I suppose I was thinking more locally where we have counties in KY and WV that have up to 60% of it's citizens on some sort of government assistance. I wonder how they vote?

Poor people tend to vote democratic, even if some think they might do better with the GOP ethnic totem plan.

They voted overwhelming Trump. The county that I was referring to (60% government assistance) voted 79.6% Trump vs 16.8% Clinton during the election.

Find Logan County on the map.

I'm still looking for the government assistance numbers. It was in the local paper (Williamson Daily News) that my in-laws bring to my wife to read.

Should we cut everything that isn't explicitly in the constitution or are we just picking this one out as not a constitutional right?
No, its just not a right and the government doesn't need to provide it. ie. when they do it's a "goodie".
