password on dell latitude laptops

Anyone know the algorithm to generate the master password from the asset tag on a dell latitude? There isn't any other way to get past this password on the dell laptops (short wiping the eeprom).

If you were wondering why I need can't call dell about this: I bought it at an auction a few weeks ago and the auction house refuses to help me, and dell refuses to believe i bought it legally.

Thats a big problem they are having these days..stolen laptops...so they wont help you get into it without proof of ownership. Wish I could help you.

You have a big problem. Can think of nothing to do. Does the auction house have records of the seller? I'm sure you have some reciept from the auction house proving that you bought it there.
