PAT is 'CONFIRMED' to be Marketing, nothing more!!!

WELL THIS REALLY BLOWS!!!!

Not too sure if its a reliable, but I just read a article that says, basically that PAT, is nothing but Marketing. THATS IT. And straight from the Horses mouth, no less. It called PAT, but its really just soupped up, HQ silicon for the Memory controllers. (And I'm about to buy the ABIT IC7. One of the main reasons is because it has PAT.)

That's bizarre... because Asus claims that you can activate PAT on their 865PE motherboards via BIOS... and lost circuits (as displayed on the Anandtech front page) demonstrates that 875P definitely has a memory-access-latency advantage over the 865P (they didn't test the 865PE). Its got to be more than just the silicon if it can actually be ENABLED on a board (X-bit labs has the Asus Press Release about "Activating" PAT on the P4P800). Here's the Lost Circuits link:

EDIT: But what do I care? My P4P800 blows away even the King of the Hill Canterwood P4C800 in most benches. So what do I care about PAT?

Its just marketing, except its faster because they use faster memory controllers? Wow, what a scandal. Give me a break. Next you guys will be bitching about how the Netburst architecture doesn't really make the internet burst.

In any case, it doesn't matter to anyone who doesnt buy mobos on the basis of marketing and buzzwords, right? Benchmarks speak for themselves.
