Pat Tillman Killed in Action

The Far Right around hre doesn't know anything but their own extremes. The fact that Tillman played football made him a prize target for the Taliban that surely they knew was a priority to kill. I don't think Tillman should have gave them the opportunity out of decency and respect for the other 300,000 soldiers overseas that didn't have celebrity status as it really overshadows their work.

Tillman gave the Taliban a nice juicy celebrity target. If celebrities were going to go over to Afghanistan and get shot I'd rather it not been a hard working soul like Pat Tillman. We could of sent PeeWee Herman, Michael Jackson, Don King, or some other, fatter juicier targets that ain't worth the support our current men get overseas.

I wish every soldier who died for this country received as much attention as Tillmans death. I'm sure if Tillman were alive he would want to be treated no differently than his fellow soldiers.

How many Americans outside of Arizona knew who Pat Tillman was before his enlistment? Do you really think that the Taliban know anything about football much less Pat Tillman? Do they get some awesome reception in their caves in Tora Bora??

When a bunch of US soldiers are in a fire fight against those Taliban, do you think the Taliban was able to individually identify and target Tillman? Do you think he went to Afhanistan with a big 40 on the front and back of his BDUs???

You have the audacity of accusing others of being extreme, yet you come up with this silly notion that Tillman was a sort of prize target for the Taliban to hunt?.

Rather than arguing over the merits of their deaths, most any combat soldier will tell you that they would rather be honored by the defeat of their enemy. That's what we should be concentrating on. Not for Tillman's sake, but for each and every soldier that put themselves on the line. We owe them that. Without their support, we wouldn't be bickering on this website.

Wait for the details of the shooting before you jump my quote. Last time I checked the Taliban as we knew it was largely routed and we were pursueing the loyalist strongholds of the worldwide Al Queda movement. A cornered prey is most dangerous, hence their need for taking prize targets at high costs.

Does anyone think so naively as yourself that Al Queda really doesn't have an intelligent leadership? And when the last wild remnants of Al Queda is finally finished off in Afghanistan and Pakistan, which should be largely within a year, watch out for the next plume of terrorists that will emerge. The next group will learn from Al Queda's many mistakes and harden themselves in much better. At least the Far Right that is pursueing them will have you believe that.
